Hello all

I suffered a chemical on Saturday after testing positive on Wednesday just gone. I had a chemical back in January this year and went back on the pill. February and stopped the pill in June. So I conceived within the third month but unfortunately I have lost it again. I feel like I have no hope! I am 38 and I have three beautiful healthy girls and we really want another baby to make our little family complete. We are not giving up hope and are going to carry on as we are but just feel like this can happen every single time Sad has anyone ever had this and fell successfully

I had 4 CPs within 6 months. It turned out that I had an infection without symptoms called chronic endometritis which made full implantation impossible. I took part in a clinical trial and was treated with antibiotics, I'm now almost 30 weeks.

Hello @NoCallerID

I have had theee healthy pregnancies and they were all took to term. I spoke with a dr yesterday and they think that alarm bells aren't ringing and to carry on as I am basically. He said if it happens again then they will see me and see what they can do. Can I ask how they tested you for this? Do they know how it is caused as well. Dd said my fertility is good because I have conceived within the 3rd month since being off the pill and I conceived within the third month last year as well after stopping the pill. Can I ask how old you are if you don't mind me asking. I am ovulating as well properly every month and always have good signs that I have ovulated. Xx

I've had one healthy pregnancy, conceived first cycle trying, then fell pregnant again first cycle trying but that pregnancy ended due to chromosomal and physical abnormalities. When I gave birth to our little boy in the second trimester I had issues with the placenta and ended up needed an MVA for RPOC 8 weeks later. I had acute endometritis around 4 weeks but this wasn't diagnosed nor was I seen by the hospital as they assumed my fever (due to the infection) was COVID. This was March 2020 so no testing available....
chronic endometritis is symptom free, I didn't know I had issues, I just had a feeling something was off. Only after the 3rd CP I was referred to Tommy's RMC, then miscarried again on progesterone. This was the point I agreed to take part in the CERM trial and they diagnosed CE by biopsy (it's the only way). Two weeks of antibiotics, another biopsy, fell pregnant again straight away and am now almost 30 weeks. CE can come from bacteria, contraceptive devises, any surgical procedures, retained placenta.... a lot. The issue with it is that it's incredibly common but not tested for in the UK, hence why Tommy's are trying to prove that the treatment works.

Thank you for this @NoCallerID I can understand the issue you have had. I am 38 yearly old as well so this may play a part in my eggs being ok so having some good some bad eggs. I have had three c sections but my last c section was 6 years ago and I mentioned this to the dr as well and he said this sldnt play a part in what's happening. It is a mind boggle though cos I've never experienced this but then I think have I cos if you don't test before your af date then you wouldn't even know you have had a chemical pregnancy as my af showed a day late now with this cp. I was due Friday and started bleeding Saturday evening and I took a pregnancy test on Wednesday so two days before expected af. Dr said not to test anymore until I actually miss a period for over at least a week. I have never had contraceptive in the body either apart from only being on the pill. I was only taking the pop from February this year til mid June and started trying again from there and then discovered this cp last week. X

I'm not saying this is what you have, but I would keep an open mind about it and do some research. You can have it for years and you wouldn't know. It's not very researched at all and GPs have never even heard of it, however it's the cause of 40% of IVF failures (now, this when there was definitely a fertilised egg implanted) so taken this into account, how many millions of women have CPs not even knowing? And if you think that 40% of these women could have CE, it's quite shocking.
My hospital where I was treated with the RPOC and where I also had my son didn't know this condition existed. And they're supposed to be gynaecologist.
Have a read up on the CERM trial, depending on where you live you're eligible to be referred to Tommy's. I'm 35, 38 isn't that much older. Definitely keep testing early, if I hadn't listend to my gut feeling I wouldn't be here and pregnant.

Thank you so much for letting me know about this. My sister in law has endometriosis and has had trouble conceiving properly and had 8 miscarriages as well but she also has pain along with it. When I have my periods I don't really have severe pain or anything like that I bleed very regular every month as well. I'm ovulating properly otherwise I wouldn't have a period every 4 weeks either. The dr I spoke to yesterday hasn't mentioned endometriosis to me which I thought maybe I could have but I think because I have always been healthy and ovulating properly and conceiving ok he didn't think alarm bells were ringing. It's so hard isn't it I just don't know what to do for the best. Me and my husband have ordered a test kit for the chlamydia and gonorrhoea as well so we are going to rule this out as well. I drink a lot of coffee as well so didn't know if this could be impacting my egg implanting properly. There are so many reasons and things it can be, I just don't know what to do or where to start even Sad but we are gonna tick stuff off that we think maybe having an impact and see how we go and if still not further luck after the next three months then maybe I will talk to my gp again and see what they say xx

That's the thing though - it's NOT endometriosis, it's endometritis. It's so easily confused because it's just two letters that make the difference in the word, yet two completely different conditions!

Have a look at this:

Hey ya yes I have had a look at this. Very useful isn't it! We are gonna keep on trying and if not success by the end of the year then I will try and ask for more help. Would I of got this in the last 5 years this is when I had my last child. I've had three c sections as well. No placenta left inside though at all. I am gonna do the test kit that I have ordered also to rule this out. I j just don't know if it's to do with the eggs I am releasing as I have been on the pill for 5 years then come off it for three months then back on it again for three months. My body I don't know if it has regulated properly yet as this is only the third month we have been trying as well. Ur info has defo been really helpful to me. I am going to keep you updated as well if that's ok 😉 x

I had one last October - started bleeding the day period was due and had only had faint lines.

Pregnant again in November- missed miscarriage, found out at what should have been 7 weeks.

Tested positive again this August, very strong lines on test and felt really hopeful… but the bleeding started at what would have been 4 +5.

I am 40 though. I already have DC and conceived start away and all problem when a lot younger.

I’ve got pregnant this time every time we have actually ‘tried’ by timing ovulation. I think it’s just my eggs are too old Sad

You have better hope I think OP as you are still under 40, fingers crossed for you.

I made the mistake of signing up to Emma’s diary online, for the one that became a missed miscarriage.

I’m September I received mail from a local photographer. An invitation to enter my baby in a “beautiful baby” competition. It was hard to look at once I figured out the dates and why I’d received it.

I got another one in the post today. I phoned the photographer and told her I’d miscarried that pregnancy. She was very apologetic- but it has broken me a bit tonight, it just felt so cruel when I saw it.

EnchantedWoods · 30/09/2021 23:23

*no problem at all

rita83 · 05/10/2021 10:16

Hello @EnchantedWoods

This is absolutely heart breaking!!! I know exactly how you feel. I have had three healthy pregnancies as well all girls also. We want to try for one more hopefully a bit. My bleeding lasted 8 days from my chemical a week ago!! I am due to ovulate Saturday and already have fertile discharge today!! I had a chemical in January this year and went back on the pill in until june. Been trying three months and fell a week ago so I don't know what's going on!! I think that maybe to my eggs are old as well and I am not very hopeful either x
