How long did miscarriage last?

I think I may be starting to miscarry (I have a scan booked at EPU on Friday). Ive had red blood (only when wiping) but a significant smear each time I wipe plus a little on a pad for the last 12 hours. No cramps yet but have experienced cramps throughout the pregnancy.

I think it’s the start of an mc. Just wondering did peoples start with light bleeding and last a few weeks before any big bleed happened?

Anyone?

I had a miscarage in 2019, I has a small amount of orangey mucus at 10 weeks nothing more till 11 weeks when it turned to red spotting over the week, no pain, then at 11.5 more active bleeding and finally at 12 weeks exactly heavy bleeding clots some pressure/uncomfortable feeling not realy pain and passing of the sac so 2 weeks. Sorry your going through this

Sorry this is happening Both my miscarriages started with pink/red blood when wiping on the first day, then period type bleeding for 4-5 days. No terrible cramps or excessive bleeds. They were both around 7 weeks.

How far along are you?

I've had two mc. The first one was at 7 weeks, spotting and red blood when wiping for about 4/5 days and then had the big bleed which felt like a very heavy period for a few days.

The second was about 10 weeks, similar spotting as before but heavier bleeding with clots this time. I got some uncomfortable cramping and it happened soon after.

I am 9 weeks (nearly 10) by my dates but had a scan at EPU 2 weeks ago where I measured 6 weeks (should have been 8) but they were not concerned and found a heartbeat, it’s only in the last 2 weeks I’ve had spotting but the last 24 hours have turned to more of smear of bright red each time I wipe but with some staining on a pad.

I’m due to go away this weekend so just worried it’ll all kick off then :( I do have w scan at EPU on Friday so hoping it’ll be clearer by then.

Just concerns me that I’ve not had any pain or big bleeds yet.

I’ve had few mc at 13 weeks when there wasn’t any heartbeat found on the scan and I started bleeding very heavy 2 days later after my scan . It was absolutely unbearable and not painful just a lot of blood coming out with mince meat kind of type blood, then few years later I’ve had 2 miscarriages at 6 weeks and started with light blood , then few blood clots and stopped after 4 days . Since then my periods are not heavy like before and I ovulate earlier . It all depends on how far you’ve gone and I’ve had also no cramping at 6 weeks no symptoms of anything just gone to toilet and saw blood and then few clots and that’s it went for a scan and nothing there . I hope you will not have mc as this is terrible for anyone xx

@LauraLillyPad thank you and sorry to hear you’ve been through this. I’m wondering if maybe I am in the process of miscarrying now but without the cramps and big clots, it’s just so hard to know.

Hopefully Friday will either give me closure or reassurance..

I had a short burst (30 mins max) of bleeding like a period and that was it really, no pain what so ever, no cramps no other signs. When I went for an emergency scan (should have been around 10 weeks along) it measured 6w with no heart beat, waited two more weeks for another scan, spotted once when wiping in that time and at my second scan no growth or improvement so at exactly week 12 had to have medical management to remove it from my body, even after taking the pills I still didn’t bleed for 12 hours. So bleeding although scary isn’t always a sign somethings wrong I’m the same way no bleeding isn’t a sign something isn’t. My only advice is go to the hospital, get scanned & hope for the best outcome possible. Pregnancy has been the worst thing I’ve ever been through but totally worth it, even if I did lose it x

Thank you for your reply. Ive been bleeding now for 4 days. I am booked at the EPU tomorrow morning as that was the earliest they could see me.

Ive never experienced bleeding in pregnancy so obviously just concerned.

I’ll update this post with the outcome tomorrow after my scan.

Just to update everyone I’ve had my scan this morning, no heartbeat :(

Now for the waiting game. Have been lightly bleeding for 5 days now and no big bleeds yet :(
