First period after miscarriage

Hi ladies,
I'm just seeing if anyone has a similar story to myself?
I miscarried 5 weeks ago at 6 weeks gestation and 3 days ago I started spotting- just brown old blood. I thought it was my period coming but it's never materialised into more?
Is this normal? I've been bracing myself for a painful heavy period!

Hi, im so sorry that you had a miscarriage, hope you are doing ok, i miscarried myself last week at 5 weeks 5 days, but all has passed now and bleeding has now ended, so dnt know what will happen this month in regards to my period.
But ive also had 4 previous miscarriages at diffent stages of pregnancy, all before 12 weeks though.
Each time my periods would be different that following month, heavy bleeds, spotting etc...it varys from person to person etc... is there any chance you may have conceived from your miscarriage till now, and that may be the reason for the spotting. X

Thank you so much for your reply! And I'm really sorry for your losses also ☹️
My partner and I have had intercourse since the miscarriage but we used condoms. It did cross my mind- as intercourse was about a week ago, but it was protected. So I'm just generally not sure what my body is doing 🤷🏼‍♀️ xx

It can take your body time to heal and settle back down into a regular pattern again, wishing you all the luck and baby dust for the future. X
