Miscarriage or cyst rupture?

Hi there,

I’m wondering whether anyone has gone through this. As per my last period, I’m 8 weeks pregnant but I know I conceived later so I think I’m actually 5-6 weeks pregnant.

A couple of days ago, I experienced severe exhaustion and pain on one side lower abdomen and some back pain also on the left side opposite to the pain on the front of the abdomen. I had some spotting but this stopped.
Having called 111, they asked me to visit A&E to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. I had the blood test and urine test which came back as pregnant and no urinary infection.
I then had a scan and the sonographer said although there is a sac and yolk sac present, she can’t see a heartbeat yet and that it looks much earlier than 8 weeks… she said I had a cyst on the left ovary and a functioning cyst on the other.
After this, another nurse came to speak to me and has told me that the pregnancy looked much early on and that if my dates were right it was likely it was looking to be a failed pregnancy.
She explained that if it was, then I would start bleeding more and would have something similar to a heavy period. I’m booked in for another scan next week Monday to see if baby has appeared or not or any changes.
I’ve had some more bleeding but not heavy at all. Just quite light and have pain in my mid back and on my left hand side again.
I’m hoping that the scan was showing an early pregnancy earlier that 8 weeks and that baby will appear next week as they couldn’t get a clear view for some reason. Could this be a cyst rupturing? I have been in a lot of pain on my left side but there isn’t much coming out apart from print discharge and tiny clots which haven’t now come back. Sometimes it’s brown.
Has anyone gone through this? My scan says that a round cystic mass can be seen in the yolk sac. Is this baby not forming properly or a very early pregnancy?
I’d really appreciate your advice.
