Hi all,

New to this and would appreciate some advice!

I’m 10wks, 6days and everything was ok until 2 days ago. Started with a stained underwear, brown blood, paid for a scan and didn’t see baby yesterday :( NHS emergency scan is tmr (still annoyed there is no urgency on their part!). Bleeding watery bright red blood now and cramps getting very bad..

Should I prepare myself for the worst?

This is my first pregnancy, I’m 39 next month..

Thanks in advance. Very anxious and don’t know how to feel about tomorrow..

Hi @VCMiller, I hope your doing ok. I didn't want to read and run and wanted to send my best wishes.
I had a very similar situation, I was 11.3weeks, unfortunately my outcome was not good news. I had real issues trying to be seen and getting a scan and had to go to A&E twice- the first time when the bleeding first started- they said it was a water infection and sent me away. The second time, 4 days later, when the bleeding got worse I was admitted and scanned the following day. The waiting and the unknown really is awful.

Just wanted to let you know you are not alone, sending positive vibes 💐

Thanks @Newgirl21

It doesn’t look good for me, but they want me to wait a week for another scan to confirm the bad news. It is heartbreaking..

I have been given some strong painkillers now and I guess I need to accept and let go and hope everything comes out naturally. How do you know when the process is complete?

We will try again. Hope you will too :)

😔 I’m so sorry @VCMiller, it really is heartbreaking

It’s difficult to say, I was given a D&C, I didn’t feel strong enough to ‘pass’ the baby at home naturally- every time I went to the loo and saw the bleeding I cried.
I had the procedure on 28th June and got a negative pregnancy test on 30th July and still waiting for my period.
I’m not sure how long it could take to happen naturally but I have seen other threads on here discussing it. The website Tommy’s also has lots of helpful information/support for miscarriages.

In the meantime - use your support system, talk when your ready, be kind to yourself @VCMiller and take all the time you need, it’s a lot to process.
