Miscarriages caused depression / anxiety

Hi all

I have had two miscarriages following IVF treatment - the last required medical management about 7 weeks ago.

Since then I have been feeling really down and anxious - but it doesn't actually seem directly related to the miscarriage, but more generally. Health anxiety is really bad at the moment - in relation to me and my family members. I've never experienced low mood or anxiety before.

I just feel generally down and worried about anything, especially when it's health related.

Has anyone experienced this before 😢

Im hoping it's all linked so there is a catalyst for it because I really want this over now - it's so draining.

Hi @IVFhope,
I am so sorry for your loss 😔
You are not alone 🥺 I had a missed miscarriage almost 4weeks ago and my emotions and anxiety has been through the roof. I keep telling myself it’s the hormones,
The more I think of it, it could be trauma. I don’t know about you but I found my miscarriage extremely traumatic and devastating and as with any trauma and loss, I guess that time is the only healer.
Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to feel (no matter how difficult it is) allow yourself to grieve.
Sending positive vibes and mumsnet hugs

Me too @IVFhope. I had three miscarriages one after the other. It caused depression and anxiety. I have since read that the experience of a miscarriage is now likened to trauma. I'll see if I can find the link to the report.

They are hugely traumatic. You've lost your baby. It doesn't matter how far into the pregnancy you are.

Take it easy. Don't expect too much from yourself. You've had a huge loss.

Thank you for posting @Stuffragette. I think that could also help me 💐

Thank you for all of your messages - I am sorry you've been through similar.

Thanks for posting the article, a lot of that resonates with me. The bizarre thing is I don't feel sad specifically about the losses but more other things in my life - I've never felt low at all before.

Messages on here, from others who understand, definitely help.

Sending you my very best wishes x

Hi OP,

I am so sorry for your loss, and for all that you've been through.
It's totally understandable to have anxiety for all health-related matters after the trauma you've been through.
After my anaphylactic shock ( I almost died), I was really stressed and worried about everything, not just my allergies and to be honest not just for me, but for my loved ones as well.

Give yourself time to recover both physically and mentally.
