HCG dropping, when will I MC?

I am 4 weeks + 3 days and have been spotting for 12 days. My HCG went from 81 to 100 in 48hrs. I retested yesterday (4 days after the 100 result) and it had dropped to 89.
I have been advised to wait for the MC to happen naturally and I’m just wondering how long others have had to wait until the bleeding started?
This will be my second MC but last time I lost everything suddenly without warning. It was horrible and painful so I’m just anxiously waiting at home for it to begin.

@welawoman Do you mind me asking what happened for you in the end, how long things took to get started?

My bHCG results were:

14dpo: 46
16dpo: 67
18dpo: 59

I'm now 20dpo so 5 weeks tomorrow and although I know it's a non-viable pregnancy, nothing is happening...no real pain or any bleeding at all

I still have sore boobs and feel slightly nauseous. My BBT and RHR are still high...it's like my body hasn't realised it needs to miscarry

I'm not due to be seen again at EPU until next Thursday when they want to recheck my bHCG as they've not ruled out ectopic yet as I'm having left sided pain (although obviously nothing showed on the scan as my HCG levels were too low)

I just want to get it over with and was hoping it would happen over the weekend so I don't need to miss work and have to explain why but nothing is happening...will they give me something to start it if nothing has happened by next Thursday?

I don't know if this is an old wives tale but I was advised to drink plenty to 'flush' the hormones out so your body can do its thing.

It may have been coincidence but it worked for me. 3 days of drinking 3 litres of water and I started cramping, bleeding started 2 days later.
