Will I ovulate or get a period first

Hi.

I had a miscarriage in early June and had surgical management. I've been having my hcg monitored as it seemed to be falling slowly. On Monday the level was 44 and just done a pregnancy test and it's a really faint line now so I'm expecting when I have my next bloods on Monday it should be zero or almost zero.

Does anyone know if I will get a period when they are zero or do you ovulate first and then get a period? Can't seem to find any info on it. I'm expecting it to be different for everyone but just trying to get an idea

Thanks

Hello, so sorry to hear of your loss. I had a miscarriage earlier this year, and then I got pregnant again before I had another period. You will ovulate first. For me it was earlier than I thought - pretty much 2 weeks from the day I started bleeding with the miscarriage. (I know this from the dates from my 12 week scan) So you may have ovulated already, and be due a period soon, as it's been more than a month.

My miscarriage was very early though, less than 6 weeks. I don't know if that makes a difference in terms of how long for the body to go back to normal.

Good luck for when you return to TTC :)

you can't have a period without ovulating first as periods are unfertilised eggs clearing out.

so I'm not sure what you are asking.

@WowStarsWow thanks for your reply. It was a mmc so although the baby was only 6 weeks I was actually 9 weeks along. Yeah maybe I have ovulated already. I'm hoping it comes soon so I can get it over with. Thanks for the advice.

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba some women have periods every month without ovulating. I have a friend who is struggling with fertility and receiving treatment for it so it is definitely possible to have a period of you haven't ovulated. I'm asking as from what I have read from others is that sometimes when their hcg returns to zero they immediately have a period and some of ovulate first then have a period. Just wanted some similar stories to see what other people have been through
