Period after medical abortion?

Hi all, I had a medical abortion 7 weeks ago now and I am yet to get my period. I took the pregnancy test 3 weeks afterwards and it was negative so definitely not pregnant anymore. Was wondering if anyone could speak from experience regarding how long it will take to come back please? I know the guidance is 6-8 weeks but it’s stressing me a bit now.

Also don’t know if this is relevant but I had my first COVID jab 4 weeks ago too.

Did you start any contraception after your termination ? This could be what is delaying your cycle
Especially if progesterone only such as mini pill , depo , implant , mirena or jaydess coil

If none of these

I would call your provider and ask for a post treatment check as still no period , most likely nothing to worry about but better to be sure if any retained product left behind

Hi @loves2plan was wondering what the outcome was for you as I am in the same situation now it's been over 7 weeks since o had medical abortion @ 23 weeks pregnant 😭 and I still have got not period just very lightly spotting most days. I also got the covid vaccination about 2 weeks ago.

Hi @rz2022, it took me about 8 weeks so I wouldn’t worry yet. Your body has been through a lot and it will need time x
