Period?

I had a tfmr at 16 weeks just coming up to 4 weeks ago. Had on/off bleeding and spotting since. But today it's proper bleeding with cramps and clots (sorry 🙈) am I right to think this is my period? Thanks!

Hi, really sorry about your loss.
Did you get a negative pregnancy test? As you have had on and off bleeding it could be retained products ( similar happened to me).
A scan will confirm this. X

Hi. No haven't done a test. I did think the hospital had said they would get me in for a scan. But not heard anything yet. Sigh.

I know it's an awful place to find yourself in.
Self refer yourself to the hospital, otherwise call your gp/midwife who will refer you to the EPAU. All the best x

Thanks for your reply. Will call the ward where we had the tfmr tomorrow. Hoping it period. Just can't be bothered with anymore faff! If it is period would a test show negative?

I am pretty sure it would show negative.
My consultant told me the retained products would of eventually have come out. But there is a risk of infection and with it being near your internal organs best to let epau know.

Unless you feel unwell, try not to panic. Do call in the morning, but I suspect it's your period getting back to usual.

No don't feel unwell. I had really bad cramps over the weekend. But they have stopped now this "period" or whatever it is has started. In my mind I assumed it would take ages to get a period because I was 16 weeks. Who knows

Once you get a negative pregnancy test, you start a new cycle. So however many weeks to get a negative response test + 4 week cycle.
That is how I understand it. X
