Question about the foetal sac...

Hi ladies
Sorry to bring up something traumatising
TMI about title to follow
I had a bleed on Sunday at which point I was 6+5 and I heard a "plop" when I went to the loo. Fished it out out of sheer panic and it looked like a kidney bean essentially but bigger and I presumed that this was the foetal sac. I continued to bleed that day but it reduced a lot over the last few days. Today I have just randomly passed another similar ?product. I have no idea if THIS was the sac? How do you know ?! I know knowing won't help. I have a scan tomorrow to ensure everything is out but it makes me wonder if there were 2 there :( I really wish women talked about their experiences of miscarriage more as I really wasn't prepared for any of this.
Thank you in advance

Hi there

Firstly so sorry that you're going through this. I haven't experienced this personally hopefully someone will be along in a moment with more knowledge but having chatted with a couple of close friends I remember one saying she passed what looked like a large blood clot similar to how you describe first product, and then something like a small tampon shape? Sorry don't know how best to describe. Thinking of you and sending unmumsnetty hugs Flowers

And you're very right this should be talked about much more than it is x

Thank you @Cornishbelle for taking the time to reply, thats very kind of you.
I see! I wonder if there are just multiple clot-type like things to pass :( Definitely need to talk about it more. There is too much stigma around this in society.

I am just going through medical management for a missed miscarriage. I was told that that the foetus/sac can be more grey in colour, and is firm whereas the clots are soft/squishy.

After the medication I had one bleed with clots, and what could have been the foetus but I’m unsure. It’s all stopped since then and wasn’t as much I as expected so uncertain if it has been effective. So I’m waiting for a negative pregnancy test (still positive after one week).

Sorry for your experience and I hope your scan is ok. Hugs x

It would really help if it was talked about more wouldn't it, hopefully it is getting better all the time and a few more generations down the line will be much more open.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow, hope you are being looked after OP and that whatever you decide for the future you get the outcome you wish for x

@MargoGru I'm so sorry you're going through that. Thank you for sharing. I think mine have all been dark red so I'm not sure. I guess there is no point in me dwelling on this. Hope things go well for you in the future x

@Cornishbelle thank you so much lovely. That's very sweet of you. I will update this thread tomorrow as I know I found comfort in other threads where women have asked these questions.
