D&C recovery - what's normal?

I’m 3 days post op and still struggling with cramping. I have little bleeding but pain is still bad like I can’t feel the top of my legs or the bottom of my back so really struggling with moving about. I feel like it’s much worse today than it has been yesterday.

I only bleed if I have bowel movement and I’ve passed a couple of grey tissue clots which have been pretty big. Not sure what to do, I don’t want to harass the doctors if this is normal?

I haven’t had a D&C before my previous losses have just been naturally at home.

Hi,
I’m very sorry you’ve had to go through this.
This didn’t happen to me after my D&C.
I bled and did have abit pain but nothing in comparison to not being able to feel top of legs etc.
I would get checked out op.
I also don’t know if I’d wait til Monday as if you have retained tissue it can very dangerous.

@Moonshine11 thank you for your reply. I'm really worried I'm being dramatic but I know that this cramping and pain isn't normal.

I'm so worried about the outcome if I have an infection or something, I've been through so much this last week. I can't handle anymore bad news

I would suggest you contact the EPU and ask them. They won't feel harassed, I'm sure they get much stupider questions daily than someone post op worried about symptoms.

I've had two MVAs (same as D&C but under local anaesthetic instead of general) and had no numbness afterwards. After the first one I had some cramping during the night for a few days, enough to keep me awake but not to be worried by, and didn't really bleed at all. The second time I didn't have any cramping, but bled for 6 weeks. Lightly, more like spotting some days, but it was daily for 6 weeks.

Sorry just seen your reply!
Not being dramatic at all, the hospital are there to answer your questions and look after you.
You know deep down this isn’t right so we’re just giving you the gentle push you need to ring/go 😊
They’d far rather you tell them about this than ride it out at home hoping it stops, because it may not.

@GinnyBee @Moonshine11 thank you both for your replies. I called the hospital and was admitted last night due to an infection. Thankfully I came when I did as I ended up fainting an hour after getting to the hospital.

Hopefully be out in a couple of days & feeling back to my normal self 🤞🏼

Sorry you’ve been so ill with it. Just what you need at such a crap time.
Glad you’re going to be ok now though since the hospital has helped you OP.

Moonshine11 · 13/06/2021 15:06

Ah I’m very sorry op!
Hope your feeling better soonFlowers

@Moonshine11 @Elieza

Thank you so much - terrible timing for this to have happened but of course what's to be expected. It's true what they say, becoming a parent really isn't an easy ride 😕🤣

Gosh, sorry that happened! Sounds really unpleasant, but glad you're getting help now and hopefully will start to feel better soon.
