Miscarriage at 10 weeks

Hi,

Looking for some advice as I’m so scared. The other night I start bleeding extremely heavily. I was in work at the time and an ambulance had to take me to hospital. I had a scan and they found unfortunately that baby no longer had a heartbeat.

I’m devastated, it’s my third loss in a year; the precious two were at 6 weeks, this one at just over 10, although they believe baby’s heartbeat stopped at around 8 weeks.

I’m getting medical management - I’m booked in tomorrow for the first tablet then I’ve to go back on Friday for the other tablets and stay in for the day until everything has passed.

Although I’m worried that things will pass at home in the mean time and I’m terrified of that happening. I don’t want to start bleeding like I did at work the other night; it was utterly traumatising. But I have already started cramping (like mini contractions really) and bleeding a bit, with small clots.

I just really don’t want to pass the baby at home. And if that does start happening, should I call the hospital?

So scared, really hoped everything would be okay with this pregnancy and I’m just devastated.

Sorry I realise I haven’t really asked much in my previous post. I guess I mostly just need to write it somewhere.

I just wanted to say I've read what you needed to write out, I'm sorry you're going through this. I had a MMC last Wednesday and was absolutely terrified of what I'd feel and see passing - so far even on heavier bleeds I've not seen anything 'significant' or 'obvious'
Again I'm so sorry for your loss x Daffodil

I hope you're ok .....

Webby1987 · 29/05/2021 13:15

Hey - how are you doing? I had surgical management yesterday and had the exact same fears as you. I've posted my experience just now.
Please make sure you push for the treatment that you feel is right for you. Don't feel guilty. If you need to be given care in hospital please push for it.
Your mental health is very important at this stage x

I’m so sorry that you’re going through this too. I agree with Webby, push for the treatment that best supports you. I hope the medical management has worked ok for you. I’m currently going through this myself and have had exactly the same fears.

You have been through such a traumatic set of experiences and my heart absolutely goes out to you. Again, I’m so sorry for your losses and I’m thinking of you x

Thank you everyone.

I ended up having to go to A&E at 4:30 in the morning on the same day I was due to take the other dose of medication, due to severe bleeding again. Once the bleeding was under control, they gave me the medication... then 4 more doses of it. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me and I ended up having to get the surgery. Surgery went well though.

I ended up being in hospital for 3 days in total. Home now and recovering well - physically at least. I don’t really know how I feel mentally at the moment.

Sorry to those of you who have also been through this. It’s awful. xx

So sorry that you have to go through this.

Best wishes in every way.

Oh goodness that sounds harrowing, you poor thing. Even physically please make sure you take time to recover. Wishing you all the best x
