How soon did you get a negative test?

I'm 10 days post erpc for mmc (should have been 11 weeks but measuring 6), and pregnancy test is still a blazing positive. Wasn't expecting it to be negative yet but thought it would be fainter. How long did it take for you to get a negative?

Sorry for your loss. I've had 3 MC's and was advised that it can take 2 weeks or even longer to get a negative. Also its longer, the further along the pregnancy was. Even though you measured 6 weeks, there is the possibility that the placenta had developed more like an 11 week pregnancy, therefore the hormones would be higher (in my limited knowledge of this).

I was negative by 14days with the last 2 mc's. They advised that if it was still positive then, to do another a week later.

With my first, which needed medical management, I ended up with a retained product and 2mths of on/off bleeding. I wasn't advised to do a pregnancy test, and being my 1st MC, was a bit clueless that the continued bleeding wasn't normal.

Has your bleeding settled? Any fever/offensive discharge? I assume they gave you info on what to do if its still positive at 14days? best of luck, but if concerned after 2 weeks, give them a call x

@BaaBaaEmily so sorry for your loss

I had my sleeping baby girl at 16+1weeks on 27th April, but had to have a MVA procedure on Friday due to retain placenta products, been told to wait another 3 weeks before testing!

Sorry for your loss too @Elouera I wasn't sure if my hormones would be 11 weeks or 6 weeks but what you've said makes sense. I was told to only contact them if I had a positive after 3 weeks so there's still time, I just thought it would be at least slightly fainter by now! I still feel pregnant annoyingly, so I'm a bit worried there's going to be retained products. My bleeding has settled now, just a bit of brown spotting so hopefully that's a good sign. It's so annoying - I just want this to be over with so we can start trying again.

So sorry for your loss @rainbowbabybump it's horrible the waiting isn't it? I feel bad that I'm wanting the pregnancy test to be negative as it's the last sign of this baby in my body if you see what I mean, but I also just want this over and done with so we can start trying again.

I’m nearly 3 weeks after an ERPC and 2 rounds of medical management 5 weeks ago. I still have some brown discharge and a faint positive

My GP told me it can take several weeks to get a negative and if there is a small bit remaining it can come out next period. The good thing is there is no fresh blood

Lots of love. It’s so hard xx

9 weeks until a negative test (fetus died at 11weeks, discovered at 12 weeks)

Sorry for everyone's losses. Seems like it's fairly common to still be showing positive after 3 weeks then.

@BaaBaaEmily so sorry for your loss, it’s so hard. I had an MVA at 9 weeks where they baby’s heart had stopped beating at 6.5 weeks. It took 4.5 weeks for me to get a negative. If your test is still positive after three weeks though they will probably offer you a scan so you can find out what’s going on.

So sorry for your loss.
I had a miscarriage at 11 week 3 days,my cervix was dialated.
I got my negative around 17 days after d&c

Bit of a different outcome but I was still getting positive tests 5 weeks after the ERPC. I went back for a scan and had to have another round of medical management then a hysteroscopy. There was remaining tissue still there and I got an infection.

If you're concerned I would suggest getting a TV scan.

Sorry for your loss, such a hard time x
