Hi all,

I believe I am currently experiencing a missed miscarriage. Last week on Thursday, me and spouse went to a supermarket, I suddenly felt like I had pee’d my pants, I rushed to the toilet and seen a gush of blood. I panicked and rushed to the a&e. It took us approx 10 mins to get to a&e from the supermarket. By then, the blood flow had decreased. I gave my bloods and urine which turned out to be normal. The nurse at the a&e booked me in for a EPA for Monday 19/04/2021. When I went home and during the weekend the bleeding had stopped however I was passing some brown discharge which seemed to be appear on and off.

After my EPA, I was suppose to be 10 weeks pregnant however the ultrasound detected that I was approx 5 weeks. There was an embryo present but no heartbeat. They have now booked me in for another scan next week to see if there is any growth and if not clearly it would indicate a missed miscarriage. I have been super disturbed mentally as it is my first pregnancy. Since the EPA, I have had a mixture of clear, green-yellowish and brownish discharge. My breast are super tender - especially during the night.

I personally do think it is mmc as my body just doesn’t feel pregnant. But the only thing I don’t understand is why has my body not responded if the embryo had stopped developing at week 5. I have not experienced any sort of cramping.

I am so disheartened however I have mentally prepared myself and wish to be over it so I have can move on...

Just wanted to say I totally get how you feel. We had a MMC last year. And I still don't understand why the body doesn't realise. I'm sure someone will be along who can perhaps explain. Hugs x

Hi there I’m so sorry you’re in the thick of this. I had a MMC in February and I had no indication whatsoever that there was anything wrong, I found out at a scan at 9 weeks that the baby hadn’t got past 7 weeks (and we’d seen a heartbeat on an early scan at 6 weeks so it really felt like it came out nowhere). It will get easier to come to terms with but the next few weeks weeks will be hard. Sending much love and speedy recovery vibes xx
