Anyone had six or more miscarriages?

I’ve had six. Am I a rare case?

If you have, how do you feel?

I had my boy after 3. Then I have had 3 since him. I’m 43 now so the odds are against us I know. I might try one more time then throw the towel in.

No cause found. Had my boy on a protocol of blood thinners, progesterone pessaries and extra vitamin d.

I’m off to bed now so if anyone replies I’ll be back in the morning...

I’m guessing from lack of responses it’s pretty rare to have this many :(

Hi @Etsylicious, So sorry to hear you are here. I think having 6 miscarriages is not uncommon. I've had 5 in a row, 2 of those have been chemical pregnancies.

I follow some accounts on instagram of ladies who've also had multiple miscarriages. One lady had 7 miscarriages and finally had a healthy boy on her 8th pregnancy.

Not sure if this made you feel any better. I am really sorry you have to go through them too. Sending lots of love!

You are not alone. Though also suspect it is not that common. I’ve never met anyone who’s had this many. I’ve just had my 6th. Numb, devastated, yet have been here so many times also feel a bit resigned. In between 4 and 5 I managed 2 successful pregnancies. First on meds, second a surprise not discovered till 14 weeks, I was still breastfeeding and hadn’t got my period back. We’d love a 3rd but trying again considering everything seems greedy and slighly insane. But also not sure how to come to terms with that. No causes found, but also had pathology on the baby I lost last summer and no genetic causes found. Meds this time around but no luck. It is heartbreaking but also I guess the sliver of hope makes it hard to let go. I really really hope you succeed on your next one!

Is quoting the post meaning commenting?

Yes. I have four children interspersed with a total of six miscarriages. No reason was identified. It was really horrible but I do appreciate that I've been very fortunate too.

I've had 11 miscarriages followed by my daughter then son. I do have pcos but I was told there was no specific cause so weren't able to offer me anything to reduce the chances of it happening.

Me too - one very precious DS after six miscarriages. I am so very grateful that he arrived at all but sometimes I feel very guilty and sad that he will only ever be an only - sad for him I mean; much as I'd have loved a big family he is everything I need.

Ive had 5 miscarraiges all in a row in the last 3 years. Not a single live birth. Only 2 had heartbeats. 1 had a chromosomal issue. The rest all just stopped developing between 6 and 9 weeks. All of them missed misscarriages and I am unaware each time until a scan. Had all the investigations, been on progesterone & baby aspirin. Just bad luck?

I've had 6 miscarriages plus a stillbirth. Have been diagnosed with APS. What makes it harder is every single miscarriage is after seeing a 'viable pregnancy' and heartbeat at around 7-8 weeks. Have one son from before the first miscarriage.
