How long for negative pregnancy test?

I discovered at our 12 week scan our baby had stopped growing at 11 weeks.

At 13 weeks I had medical management. That was 2 weeks ago now and I’m still bleeding and have very strong positive tests.

I just want to get back to normal so we can start trying again. Can I hear your experiences to know what to prepare myself for?

Personally, I also discovered MMC at 12 week scan with fetal death at 11weeks. It took 9 weeks to get a negative test and a period. They were blindingly strong for about 6 weeks and as a result the EPAU rescanned me to check nothing was left behind. It wasnt, the hormones will just staying very strong. On the support chat I was on it took each poster between 4 and 10 weeks so is quite variable.

I’m sorry for your loss, op. I think I had a positive for about 6 weeks before it finally turned negative (had surgical management, loss of twins). I too went back for scans to check nothing was left. I fell pregnant again after my first period post miscarriage though so although it really did feel like a lifetime waiting for the bleeding to stop, once it did, things sorted themselves out pretty quickly. If you don’t mind me probing a little further, how long after your negative test was it until your first period?

And do you know if and when you ovulated and how long this took to return to normal?

So basically I was:

Week 1-3 post MC surgery; test still as positive as when pregnant.
Week 4-6 post MC surgery; test still a blinder, but slightly lower. Scan showed no retained tissue.
Week 7-8; tests weak, showing on a FRER
Week 9; test blank; ovulated that same week so 9.5 weeks after

Am now in cycle 2 after MC, but I have weird long cycles and delayed ovulation (had this before pregnancy) so my tale may not be the best report to compare to.

I think it was about 2-3 weeks after the negative test that I got a period but I’m not sure if I ovulated or not that month. My cycle was completely back to normal after that first period though.

The waiting is so so hard. I hope your cycle gets back on track quickly.
