Ovulation after miscarriage

Hi all, I had a miscarriage about 3 weeks ago (at 7 weeks pg) I bled for a week and got a negative test 1 week ago. I feel like my body is trying to ovulate again but i don’t think it’s happening... I’m tracking my temps and they are very up and down, my opks seem high but not peaking and my cervix is high. Will my body just keep trying until it’s happens? Am I right in thinking I won’t have a proper period until I have ovulated?
Thanks for your help, I know trying to get preg again immediately after mc may seem very soon but I’m 40 years old and I feel like this is my last chance for a final baby (I do already have children)

@Honey2 I'm sorry for your loss. I don't have any advice I'm afraid but I'll also be watching out for signs of ovulation post recent mc. I'm 38 hoping for baby no.1 and like you don't feel I have much time to waste. All the waiting for this and that is killing me. I'm an impatient person at the best of times, but this is torture.

Hello, hope you don't mind me joining for chat and info. I started bleeding at the weekend at 8 weeks approx, had a scan yest which confirmed no heart beat and they think pregnancy stopped progressing a few weeks ago. Have to wait now to see if I pass myself this week. If not then another scan next week to see what's happening. I am 41 so very keen to try again ASAP. Already blessed with a 22 month old but took me 9 months to conceive second time so time isn't on my side!
