Dr Shehata

I am seeing Dr Shehata privately in a few weeks for recurrent miscarriage tests & hopefully treatment.

Would anyone be willing to share an idea of what you have spent with him, please?

We are going to find a way to do it no matter what but it would be helpful to understand whether we are likely to be spending £5k or £20k+ before embarking on this journey.

I do have an nhs referral to him but the waiting list is long so we have decided to go ahead privately.

Thank you.

Hi @treesall I'm under Dr Shehata too. Had my initial tests in November and spent about £2.5k. We struggle to conceive, so haven't been successful yet and my plan is the full, complex, pre-conception, so I have ovulation intralipids, hydroxychloroquine, prednisolone and cyclogest, so the meds have been about £500 a month. I've also just done a superovulation cycle and spent £1100. So it can add up. But I think I'm an exception as most people seem to conceive quickly once they've seen him.

We're about £7k spent now. If I get pregnant, it will be visits to the clinic for scans and intralipids every 2 - 4 weeks until 16 weeks.

There's an ongoing thread with a few of us seeing him, I'll post it xx
