4th miscarriage confirmed today

Title says it all....my 4th miscarriage was confirmed today and I am truly so heartbroken.

I found out I was pregnant on feb 6th, I had a scan at 5+4 (from LMP) as had left sided pain so my doctor referred me to the EPU. They saw an empty sac and I was told not to worry and come back the following week, I did, empty sac again but it had grown, told to come back the week after, again sac grown and had a yolk sac. Was told to wait 2 weeks. Today that 2 weeks was up, I hadn't been bleeding or in any pain prior to this scan. I went to the toilet to empty my bladder and low and behold, there was blood on my panty liner. There was my answer even before the scan.

She was doing the scan and the silence is torture, she looked at me and I just knew the words she was about to say "I'm so sorry" and there is my 4th miscarriage confirmed.

I've chosen the medical route and I start that on Monday where I will get the tablets and take them at home.

All my other miscarriages have been natural, but has anyone did the medical route and how was it for you? I've contacted my doctor to get a sick note for work so I can just take time off for myself mentally and psychically.

I am also under my hospitals recurrent miscarriage clinic. I was in 400mg twice daily progesterone pessaries, 150mg aspirin and 5mg folic acid. All the tests they did on me have come back clear and fine. So I don't have any answers as to why this keeps happening. A journey I need to take

I've been thinking about you today @MollySxx Flowers I hope you're taking care of yourself and managing to do something nice and distracting with your weekend xxx

MollySxx · 20/03/2021 20:11

@Flopsy88 that's so sweet of you, thank you💓

And my partner made me my favourite breakfast in bed (couldn't stomach it as much as usual) and took me to my favourite places, the range and b&m, treating our living room to some new candles and some batteries for my LED lights😂 followed by a dine in for 2 from marks and Spencer's. A simple normality task which occupied my mind for an hour or so.

I've starting bleeding tonight also, so it's just a bit of a downer. Hoping it's all over soon🥺

How are you @MollySxx. Been thinking of you x

Sorry for your loss. It really is shit isn't it? I've had 6 MC if you include 2 eptopics (one ruptured). I had 2 natural MC and 2 in hospital. The first one in hospital it came away in one go, like a big sausage like form. Could see the fetus amongst the tissue thank god. It was a few years ago now.. I think I was about 11 weeks. The second one I had at hospital came away in pieces of tissue, like big blood clots. Neither pleasant but my point is they were both different, so it's hard to advise what to expect.

I find it helps me to try and be quite medical about it, hence why I talk about tissue and fetus rather then babies. To save my sanity I have to take the baby part out of my mind. It may sound odd but everyone finds their own way to cope x

I've just got back from the hospital and I've been bleeding myself since Saturday, but nothing heavy, haven't been in any pain at all. Had small cramps yesterday and passed a clot and the cramps stopped. They told me to keep anything I passed and I did. They are going to test that. But I had a scan and it showed I've passed the miscarriage myself/absorbed it. Said my womb still looked thick, but my first cycle should shed that. And I've done it naturally. So didn't need the medical management after all. And they are referring me back to the recurrent miscarriage clinic. So that's a waiting game, but the end is near and hopefully won't have to deal with this bleed much longer and can just move on...

@treesall I am doing okay, I'm just drained and sick of doctors saying "I'm sorry this has happened" well yeah, me too

@Mishmased so sorry for your previous loss🥺 and congratulations on your rainbow baby🌈

For me on a personal level, I won't be TTC this year. I'll revisit it next year
