11 weeks is this a miscarriage?

Hi,

I posted this under pregnancy earlier but maybe here is more appropriate.

I am about 11 weeks pregnant and on Monday morning I noticed some very dark jellylike discharge followed by brown spotting that carried on all day Monday. I also had some mild backache which has now got a quite a lot worse, almost like the backache I get when I'm on my period. I still have some bleeding (very dark and more than spotting) today. Anyone else had this and things turned out ok?

I'm fearing the worst.. I was already nervous all through this pregnancy as I had an MC at 6 weeks late last year. I was just starting to relax a bit with my 12 week scan booked for next week, and allow myself to feel like this will actually happen so I feel really gutted now.

I spoke to the GP yesterday and she booked me in at the EPU to be checked but that's not till Wednesday.

Any positive stories would be massively appreciated!

Anyone? I'm properly freaking out now and preparing myself for the worst when I go to the EPU tomorrow :-(

Is this the time you should have had your period? I ask because for the first couple of months with both my pregnancies, inexperienced dark spotting at that time. Fingers crossed for you x

Thanks for your reply @loobylou10, really appreciate it!

My last period was 81 days ago so technically it could be my "3rd period" since then, but my cycles tend to be more 30-32 days so unlikely I'd say. Also I've not had any spotting till now.

Like I say, inexperienced spotting (and even some bright red blood) with both mine up to the 12 week mark so try and stay positive. Hope all goes ok for you at the EPU xThanks

I'm 11 weeks too and had this with some craps all the way from week 6 to week 10. Nothing for the last week or so. I had an early scan at the EPU at 7 weeks and everything was fine then and they said I didn't need to contact them again unless I had heavy bright red bleeding. Some bleeding especially brown blood is very common in the first trimester so hopefully you will have reassurance after the scan.

Thanks for your encouragement @MeadowHay, I really hope so too! Good luck with your pregnancy!

Hi, just wondered how you're doing with this as my friend is experiencing the same thing?

AnxiousTurtle3 · 17/03/2021 19:02

Hi, sadly it didn't work out for me. The bleeding and pain got a lot worse overnight and I miscarried early this morning. Confirmed by the scan at the EPU later today. Hope your friend is alright!
