Hi ladies. @Mugcake @Emduck84 ❤️ I hope you’re both okay. I’m so sorry for your losses.
I just wanted to share my experience in hope that it will help - I miscarried at 8 weeks at the beginning of December, bleeding last seven days from start to finish. In terms of my mc, I was prescribed codeine because the pain was awful, just as you ladies describe so you have my upmost empathy - please don’t suffer. I went for a scan 48 hours after my miscarriage to check everything had been expelled, and I haven’t been back since.
I had my first negative test 16 days later. And I had my first period 18 days after that. So my first period came nearly 5 weeks from the day that my miscarriage bleeding was in full swing. My second period after that was 3.5 weeks later. My cycle was all over the shop! PMS cramping was really painful and was really irregular; it wasn’t a case of having cramps and then a bleed. The cramps just came and went - and I spotted a couple of days before which I’ve never had before. But both periods were so heavy, that’s the only thing I would prepare for really. It took me by surprise.
I was told after the scan, to take a test in 3 weeks and if it was negative - that was it. They didn’t realise advise on trying again, but just said to leave sex until the bleeding had stopped, and “try” preferably after one cycle for dating purposes should you conceive but I didn’t.
If you haven’t had a period after 8 weeks I was told to come back, and if I had any pain etc, to come back. My cramps were painful, but never enough for me to see a doctor so if you are lots of pain please do seek some advice. I promise you with time your sadness will ease a little, and once your cycles are back into a routine, it really does make you feel a whole lot better. Right now it’s a waiting game which is rubbish! Xx
