Missed miscarriage

I had my 12 week scan last week and baby had no heartbeat and size suggested it was 9 weeks. I would like to have a natural miscarriage as was to avoid the hospital at the moment. I’ve had a little bit of bleeding but not much. How do I bring on a natural miscarriage?

Hi Hola,

I'm so sorry for your loss. I found out that I had a MMC last week, I opted for surgery. Have you spoken to your EPU?

They said that I would have to sit tight and wait if I chose to miscarry naturally.

Sorry I can't help you further.

Thanks

I'm currently going through a natural miscarriage and I wish I'd gone for the surgical management. If you do go for natural management I've found that hot baths are amazing for the pain. In terms of bringing it on there's no real way, it'll happen when it happens

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss @Enola41and @amazilian.
The EPU, did go through the 3 options but ideally I didn’t want to have t go back to hospital at this time which is why I opted for natural. It would have be 4 weeks on Tuesday and thought it would have happened by now.

Thanks for the hot bath tip xx

So grateful to have stumbled upon this thread. After seeing a strong heartbeat at 7 weeks sadly at our 9 week private scan on Thursday we were told the baby had died and a missed miscarriage diagnosed. Told the baby had likely died at 7w5days. The last few days have been a complete blur, terrified to leave the house incase I start bleeding and just feel so trapped and broken. I've got an appointment this morning at the EPU at 11.40 for a scan to confirm and then discuss options. I know 100% I want a surgically managed miscarriage under full anaesthetic but terrified I'll be made to wait weeks, just wondering how long it took anyone else to get surgery? I think if it's any longer than a few days I'd want to try and go privately, just can't take anymore of this :(

Thanks Tamsin.

I had the scan to confirm the baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks, they scheduled me in for the op the next morning.

I believe if you don't want intervention you just have to wait but will only be effective in 50% of cases. Have you spoken to someone about your options?
