I've been awake since 3am

I've been awake since early this morning and trying not to cry. I am/was 11 weeks when I started to get spotting on Saturday. The spotting has progressed to period type bleeding with fingernail sized clots.

I've spoken to EPU, who refused to see me as my 12 week scan was next week, and seen a GP, who managed to get me an earlier scan later this week. My husband remains optimistic and hopeful that the bleeding and clots are not because of miscarrying.
I don't share his hope.

I don't know why I'm posting. I guess I'm not sure what to do or think.

I'm going to phone EPU again to see if they will see me today.

Ah no this sounds so awful for you, your dh too. I personally didn't find optimism helpful I suppose it just delays the misery, but you both need to do whatever you can to get through to the scan.
There always are cases of someone who has had some bleed inside and it wasn't anything to do with the baby. That is possible. But of course also possible that you are miscarrying. I'm so sorry you can't get a quicker answer. They won't bring you in from the point of view that they can't do anything really, but that doesn't help a woman desperate to know the answer. If you have to wait too long you could consider a private scanning place (if they are allowed to be open in your area, I don't know).
It all just sucks and I'm sorry you're having to go through it. Been there, got the t-shirt but I wish it didn't have to happen to anyone else.
Do you have to work at the moment?

Enola41 · 12/01/2021 08:33

Fortunately I'm not working this week. I have a very sympathetic boss which is nice. As I have to go into work I'd told her and she was very excited for me.

EPU have said to come in now. They cannot scan but will get a doctor to look at me.

How did you get on at epu today? Thinking of you

Enola41 · 13/01/2021 08:04

Thank you for thinking of me. It went okay. My cervix is still closed, I had more swabs and blood taken. The registrar said it was a threatened miscarriage. They will know more when I go in for the scan tomorrow morning. I have to rest.

The bleeding has slowed down a bit but I passed a few clots this morning, so will give the EPU a call as they said to call if I passed any clots. I'm not hopeful.

Just saw your most recent post OP. So sorry to hear about your MMC. Take time with your DH to support each other through this. I had an MMC in October last my year. My heart goes out to you both 💐

I'm so sorry OP, it is such an awful thing to have to go through. I hope you have support and can take some time to look after yourself SadFlowers
