Scan after miscarriage

I had an early scan almost 2 weeks ago and Dr said there was no heartbeat and baby was measuring too small. I knew my dates were correct so I knew for sure it was a miscarriage but organised a 2nd scan as advised to do. For various reasons earliest I could arrange this for was 30th January. I've been bleeding for the past few days, with cramps and clots and I know that this is it happening. Is it worth going to the scan on Wednesday or should I phone tomorrow so they can give the slot to someone else? I know I'm not pregnant anymore but is it worth going to check everything has gone/no risk of infection (is that possible?) or do I just wait and take a pregnancy test in a couple of weeks?

I would still go along just to make sure there's nothing left behind. There can be a risk of infection if the miscarriage is incomplete.

Ever so sorry for your loss xx
