HCG to return to normal

Hi,
I started natural miscarriage last Friday at 12
Weeks.
My hcg was 19,000.
Have been bleeding for 5 days now..
did a preg test today and it's still
Positive.. how long does it take to become negative? How long did it take anyone else in similar situation?
I have another scan on the 30th if I'm
Still getting positives by then, so that's only 7 days and I don't think it will be negative by then.
A bit frustrating as they said if it's negative I don't have to go back and I really don't want to go back if I'm honest..
Xx

Firstly just want to say I’m so sorry you’re going through a mc. It’s heartbreaking.

I’ve had 5 now, each one as heartbreaking as the last.

When I miscarried at 9 weeks it took 5 weeks for my hcg levels to drop to 5 (which is considered negative).

I’ve read about women where it’s taken only a week or 2, but I’ve also read about women who have taken 8 weeks to reach non pregnant hcg levels.

I hope you get your negative test soon.

Sending hugs x

@Rainbowafterrainbow thank you lovely that's really helpful and reassuring to know. I'm a bit worried about retained tissue so hopefully that's not the case xxx

I had surgery for a MMC (developed to 11 weeks, found out at 12) and they told me it should be negative in 3 weeks from surgery

Im so sorry for your loss. I hope your ok!

I'm on week 4 since my miscarriage (had to take abortion pills). I was 7 weeks and was still getting strong positives 2 weeks later. Now my tests are ever so slightly positive- so faint you have to squint 😂 I'm hoping my levels are almost at zero. I just want my af now so i know where i am in my cycle.

I've read on the internet of how some women it takes around a week and others weeks or months 🙄

I was 10 weeks when I miscarried and it took 5 weeks to return to zero and get a negative test.

I had to have blood tests from 3 weeks to check that the levels were falling. Thankfully they were which put my mind at rest!

Sorry for your loss, hope you're okay.

Took me 4/5 weeks to return to negative pregnancy tests. X

I was 5.5 weeks when I had an ectopic pregnancy and after surgery it took 12 weeks for my hcg to return to 0. It was around 11000 at the time.
I was told it was something called trophoblastic disease. They brought me in to have bloods done every week for 3 months to make sure it went to 0.
I would keep testing and if it's still positive make sure you contact the early pregnancy unit or your maternity hospital just to make sure it is a 'complete mc' and there is no retained products.
I'm really sorry for your loss 💐
