Miscarriage at 11weeks

Hi there
I had a miscarriage a few nights ago. I was 11weeks. It was so painful we called 111 and was told to get to A&E, but of course my partner couldn’t come in. It’s all very sad. I have a very sore abdomen now with some sharp pains and I find it hard to sleep. I think I feel quite frustrated because there is so little information out there about this. Medical articles describe the pain as “like period pain” which is totally wrong, and barely discuss the lingering pain days and days later.
I just wanted to share 😢

I am so sorry for your loss @Paddleandbail ❤️ it makes me really angry that the reality and pain we experience is dismissed. In my second pregnancy loss (I have recurrent losses) the nurse at epu said you've had a big bleed haven't you? And I was like, no I physically contracted for hours until I passed my baby and it was painful and traumatic.
I'm so sorry this happened. Be gentle with yourself, get plenty of rest and be kind to yourself. It's OK to grieve. Lots of love ❤️ xx

Hi @VenusStarr, I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had recurrent losses. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone in the pain and trauma; the way it’s described makes you wonder if you’re just being weak because the descriptions are so dismissive, but every loss is a big and traumatic event. Thank you for taking the time to reply and share your story. Lots of love to you too xx
