Hello! Hope all is well with you ladies.

First off, I’m american. It matters only what is routine for some is not routine for others.

with my insurance - D&Cs cost. Transvag Ultrasounds Cost. Mediation costs. Almost everything has a cost. I’d like to keep expenses low if possible.

I am 38 and had a confirmed blighted ovuem(so?) Nov 11th. I picked naturally occurring miscarriage over the other options, and went about my day.

On Nov 27th, I started to bleed. I was so relieved because as we got closer to Dec 2nd (my birthday) medical intervention was also looming.

So I started to bleed, and everyday it’s been a little more blood. Like the 5th day of a 7 day monthly - on pad. Wiping I’ve had clots.

I haven’t had much pain or gushes of blood. But I feel the increase of pressure/gas feeling/nauseous/ pain each day that has passed.

My doctor says I’m ok to work until it happens. I’m not sure I agree. I don’t want to leek blood or be in a place where Id have to let someone know for me to bleed in peace.

My question- after starting to bleed- how long did your bodies take to continue with the process?

I thought it would happen by now truthfully.
I was 6 weeks when the gestational sac was quoted abnormal. 8 weeks confirmed. Maybe in my 10/11th week?

This sub has been so helpful even with the things I can only dream to relate too. I appreciate your time and patience with me.

This is not something I have experienced myself @Mstrusting so hopefully other posters will be more useful. However I have read that the process can take up to 3 weeks but should reduce by 1.5 weeks. Given the age your sac is thought to have progressed to, your bleeding and clotting should hopefully not be too severe.

If you are still bleeding, clotting or tearing positive 3 weeks after starting to miscarry you are advised to seek medical attention as something might be retained. This has an infection risk and can also stop you conceiving again (as your body will stil think you are pregnant)

Wishing you all the best

@Mstrusting very sorry that you’re going through this. I had a blighted ovum, which had stopped growing around 6 weeks. I found out at our 7 weeks scan. I had heavy bleeding like a period just after this. I also had clots, but no pain or gush of blood. I went back to the hospital a couple of weeks later, and the sac was still there. I ended up taking misoprostol. I had very heavy bleeding that same day (I think I was around 11 weeks), and a bigger clot. I could tell this was the sac. But I didn’t have any pain at all.
I was seen through an ivf clinic, and they recommended I took the medication after it taking longer. The medication worked for me, and it was ok to go through... as it can be!
All the best.
