Not bleeding after misoprostol

Hi all.
I chose medical management to help with my 8 week miscarriage. I took my first dose of misoprostol yesterday, expecting the heavy bleeding I've read about. I had excruciating cramps, didn't know what to do with myself. It was stomach hip and back pain about 4 hours after the tablets. I didn't however bleed any more than a light spotting.
Feeling frustrated, and petrified about going through this pain all over again tomorrow when I take my second dose. Had anyone had an experience like this?

Sorry for your loss. I had the same issue, with minimal results first dose. (Second dose didn’t fully work for me but am still glad I tried). I think people have very different pain experiences, mine was tolerable but I had a couple of codeine on top of paracetamol and ibuprofen. I had to ask for the codeine, as the EPU didn’t offer them and I’m glad I did have them, even just for reassurance. The second time around the side effects like chills and nausea were easier for me but I found the pain once the miscarrying process properly began felt different. My worst pain came hours after the sac etc. had come away, was probably more like labour contractions. I hope it goes well for you.
