Periods not returning after miscarriage?

Hi
I had a MMC when I was around 6 weeks. I took Misoprostol to pass the pregnancy sac at 11 weeks.
3 weeks after taking the medication I had some spotting/ light period for a few days. But since then no other bleeding. It has been 9 weeks since taking the medication.
I’m not sure what’s normal, and if I should give it more time before phoning a doctor.

This was an ivf pregnancy, so we won’t be trying to conceive again just yet. But I do feel quite drained and exhausted. I wondered if that was hormone related.

Thanks!

I’m sorry for what you have been through. Have you taken a pregnancy test? I find them a good guide for when my post miscarriage period is likely as the test gets fainter until it’s negative and then I tend to have a period around two to three weeks after that.

I meant to say that if the test stays positive, it’s worth considering if anything has been retained which could require an ERPC.

@SparklyOwl thanks for your reply.
I took a pregnancy test 3 weeks after the medication, and it was negative. I did take it in the middle of the day, not sure if that matters, or not. Sorry that you have been through this too.
I’m just so confused with who to phone, pregnancy unit, fertility clinic or my GP 🙈

I had a miscarriage. It was passed naturally and had a scan to confirm. I kept bleeding on and off for about 3 months afterwards and felt terrible. It turns out that the placenta had not passed. As soon as it did I felt so much better and my periods returned to normal.
I would make an appointment with a doctor, I should have done sooner.

@Idontgiveagriffindamn That sounds tough! Thanks for sharing your experience. Will give the fertility clinic a phone and see what they say
