Very happy to have found this group. My wife and I spent all weekend reading all the different stories and thoughts. It gives us comfort knowing many people face the same challenges we do.
We have a two year old and lost our 2nd daughter, Harper, 4 months ago at 39 weeks, totally unexpectedly. We had a heartbeat 24 hours earlier and she was born stillborn the next day.
My wife has a balanced translocation at 9 (9q34) & 22 (22q13). Harper was born with the same balanced translocation and a 3p13 gene deletion. Apparently they were unrelated. The genetic counselor also said that she doesn’t believe that the gene deletion played a factor in her being stillborn. So we are still unsure of why it happened.
We’ve also had 3 other miscarriages all before 6 weeks. One before our first daughter, one before Harper, and one last month. I’d love to hear other stories that are similar to ours.
A couple weeks ago we finally got a positive test and her HCG levels are rising. We are so hopeful :)
