Hi all, I'm looking for some advice in regards to chemical pregnancy. I had a mmc in June this year at 8 weeks, periods returned around 9 weeks after the mc (surgically managed) and we've been ttc since. This would have been the third cycle since mc and I think I've had a chemical. Af is currently 5 days overdue - I got a faint positive pregnancy test a couple of days ago but then all tests since have been negative (including early detection ones) so I know I'm not pregnant. I had quite bad cramping last week around the time af was due but no bleeding yet and I'm starting to get worried. I thought that you started bleeding pretty much straight away after a chemical pregnancy - has anyone experienced delayed period following a CP and if so how long has it taken to resolve? I'm going to call my GP in the morning but just wanted some advice/others experiences in the meantime. Thank you in advance

Hi @Northernsoul90
I’ve only just seen this thread but would be interested to hear how you are now and what the doctor advised? I think I’m going through the same and just waiting until Sunday to do another test (FRER) and if negative assume chemical pregnancy or early miscarriage. I’ve not had a period yet and only a tiny bit of spotting 5 day’s after period was due. All very confusing x

Hi @DMT1982 I've only just seen this! I didn't get any answers from the doctors I'm afraid they were pretty useless. AF arrived 8 days late and was quite heavy for me, I can only presume I had a chemical with the faint positive and subsequent negative tests and my period being so late. I hope you are okay and you got some answers xx

Hey @Northernsoul90 thanks for replying and your update. How have you been since it all happened?

I had a negative a week later and called the doctors who said just wait and if no period call back in two weeks and they may send me for a scan 🤷‍♀️

I’m just assuming I’m on my next cycle and Period will land when it normally does, who knows! Maybe the not being able to track will be good for me and just taking a stab in the dark (literally) with when I’m ovulating 😂 xx

I was very upset whilst I was waiting for af to arrive I think it all got a bit much, I just wanted to know what was happening. I'm okay now just trying to stay positive as ttc can be a lot at times! I had a missed miscarriage in June at 9 weeks so was trying again and had really got my hopes up that this was it. I'm taking a bit of a step back from ttc at the minute just for my own sanity. I hope you are okay... it's really frustrating feeling like you're in limbo! Xxx

Hi, looking for some reassurance hopefully
I went for a transvaginal scan one week ago thinking I was 6 weeks but saw a sac and they said come back in 2 weeks.
That night I started spotting which turned into light red blood - not enough to fill a pad but present when I wiped. This carried on for 3 days with a large clot. Too big for how far along I am.
I have gotten lighter bleeding and now brown with stringy bits but not much.
Clear blue test still says pregnant 2-3 weeks which has gone up from last test. I am still have nausea and emotional etc but have read these can carry on for a few weeks after a MC
I am Due my next scan on 31.10 really trying to stay positive but struggling with the wait 😩 anyone with similar - am I bleeding from possible SCH, would irritation cause this much bleeding or is it a coincidence I’m miscarrying after a TV scan? Thanks in advance cx

@Northernsoul90 no worries I’ve only just seen your reply now 🤦‍♀️
I completely understand where you’re coming from as I’m impatiently awaiting my period and no idea when it’ll come. A rest from trying to conceive may do you good just to enjoy life a bit instead of counting down days until you can test or period arrives. Maybe if you go a long not tracking or actively thinking about it then it could happen, I hope it does for you 🤞 xx

@Caitw I’m sorry to hear what you’re going through and the not knowing is the worst. I can’t offer you any advice because mine ended in miscarriage however I never even got to a scan and was very early on. There are tons of positive stories on here where ladies bleed a lot during pregnancy and everything works out. The 31/10 is a long old way off when you’re worrying, could you not pay for another scan to see what’s going on? Xx

Caitw · 25/10/2020 07:32

@DMT1982 I’m sorry to hear how it ended for you Sad
It is a private scan I am waiting for but I am going to call gp on Monday and say I’m still bleeding and so stressed I can’t wait until then!
I think with a definite answer I can process and move on - this waiting and limbo is killing me xx

DMT1982 · 25/10/2020 07:53

@Caitw sorry what I should have put was can you bring the private scan forward to this week to give you peace of mind? I appreciate you’ll have to pay but will be worth it? Xx

Chickoletta · 26/10/2020 17:16

Hi @Caitw. Sorry you’re going through this. Phone your midwife and tell them about the bleeding. In your position I’d also be tempted to tell them that you have one-sided pain. This will hopefully prompt them to give you a scan at the EPU. Fingers crossed for you.

Caitw · 26/10/2020 17:33

I have spoken with midwife they have said nothing to be done, gp says wait until 31st! I still have preg symptoms of sickness etc and test this morning was positive so trying to hold onto positives and get through this week! Thanks for your advice xx

JFBMac · 26/10/2020 18:22

I'm in the same position as you. I started bleeding last Thursday but it wasn't as long or heavy as my normal period. I took another test today and it still says pregnant. I'm getting so down!

Caitw · 26/10/2020 19:17

@JFBMac how many weeks are you??
Speak with your gp and ask for a scan xx
