Cycles after ERPC Procedure

Hi ladies. I’m new to Mumsnet and am hoping for some advice if possible. I did post this on Conception but was just thinking perhaps this may be a better place to ask?

I had a MMC at the beginning of August and an ERPC procedure was done at the end of that month. I was just wondering post EPRC if it’s likely that my cycles would have gone back to normal (28 day’s, ovulation day 14) from my first period or are likely to be erratic for a few months maybe? What are your experiences please? Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Sorry you have had to go though this its horrible isn't it :(.

I am wndering this myself tbh its been exactly 28days today since my procedure and I'm hoping Af will arrive ASAP... . I did bleed on and off for 3 weeks tho so i have no idea if that will effect mine or not.

Hopefully we get back into a normal monthy cycle ASAP. Hopefully someone will comment with there experience but from what i have read it varies greatly for everyone

@KM89 Hi and thanks for your message. Yes it’s horrible, I’m sorry you’re also going through it I didn’t bleed much at all and my first cycle after the procedure started within 5 weeks. I don’t know if that does make a difference or not but hope your AF starts soon as I know how horrid the wait is.

I think typically your cycles should return fairly regularly after the first one. Hopefully this will be the case for you.

However I had an ERPC in Jan and my cycles haven't returned to normal. I bled for 5 weeks after my surgery, passed a chunk of tissue and then got my first period 3 weeks after that (so 8 after surgery). My next two cycles were 8 and 12 weeks long. Current cycle has been nearly 9 weeks I have a gynae app next week to see what is happening because I also have random mid cycle spotting.

I’d be really interested to hear about others experiences following D&C too. I had my surgery back on 8th August, had a completely brown period last month, nothing since and nothing so far this month. I tried a few cheap ovulation tests last month to see whether I was actually ovulating again but got mixed results. Would just love to know what’s going on so we can start trying again

Hi OP, sorry you went through this. I had an ERPC last October and my period came 5 weeks later. I fell pregnant the cycle after that after using OPKs which showed I ovulated slightly later than I would have done normally. My DD is now 6 weeks old. Your body knows what to do and things will get back to normal. Sending you baby dust x
