Pain after Miscarriage

I am 3 weeks post MVA now (although months post finding out I had MMC) but have had right side pain since, I had a corpus luteum cyst when pregnant and the pain feels similar to that. I keep feeling certain it is appendicitis or 'grumbling appendix' but blood tests show now infection and scans are clear.

The GP has said he thinks it is muscular and prescribed strong painkillers but I know it isn't muscular eye roll

Did anyone else have ongoing pain post miscarriage? Don't know how long I am expected to be in pain....

I’m really sorry for your loss and hope you’re doing as ok as can be expected. It’s really an awful thing to have to go through.

I am 5 days post MVA and was fine physically for the first day (emotionally traumatised) and then cramping started.

I too had a big corpus luteum cyst and have had similar pain to that on one side, on and off. Decided to class that as a good thing as maybe ovaries are waking up? Not scientific but made myself feel better. Have also had pain inside the womb and again, I’ve been telling myself it’s my insides healing as there is no obvious sign of infection.

But I have also had a lot of stomach cramps and abdominal pain, which I suspect are caused by all the antibiotics I was given post MVA (4 tablets and a suppository. I was already taking some for a UTI before I found out about the MMC) and I think my gut is very unhappy. I’m waiting to see what happens after I finish the UTI course and if things don’t improve, will contact the GER at St Mary’s.

I’m sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery, and if you’re in doubt or worried, definitely contact your GP or the EPU and insist on getting it checked.

So just to say, you are not alone. The uncertainty of what’s happening inside is awful and it’s unfair we also have to go through this on top of what happened.
