How long did you bleed?

I found out last week during a private scan that I had miscarried. I should’ve been 10 weeks but was measuring at 6 weeks and the heartbeat we had seen in our first scan had stopped.

I’m booked in for a D&C on Thursday but started bleeding over the weekend. I had one day of intense pain and medium clots, but they've eased off now. Since then I’ve only had light bleeding and mild cramps.

Is it possible that the worst has passed? This is day 4.

Can you please share your stories so I know what to expect.

This was my first pregnancy and I never expected it to end like this. I am heartbroken.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's an awful thing to go through.

With my first MC at 7 weeks (but baby was only measuring 6weeks) I had a couple of days of heavy painful bleeding then nearly 2 weeks of spotting. My second MC I had s d&c and only spotted for a few days afterwards.

I might be worth getting checked at the hospital to make sure you have passed everything but I hope that was it for you X x

I have a similar question....

I had the pessary 8 days ago. That afternoon I had intense pain and passed a lot of blood/clots/tissue etc and then it settled down and I had a couple of days of really light bleeding and the occasional tiny clot.

On day 4 I had heavy bleeding and more large clots but no pain at all. That went on for about 12 hours.

Today is day 8 and for the past few days it’s just been spotting.

The Dr told me I have to wait 3 weeks then take a pregnancy test which should be negative by then.

Does that mean I will bleed for 3 weeks?

Honestly I just want to feel normal again and be intimate with my husband! As I had been spotting for a few of weeks before we found out I’d had a missed miscarriage so we haven’t been able to be intimate and, honestly, I miss been so close to him! 😢

Thanks @Quail15 I’m just hoping they’ll still do the D&C. All of this uncertainty is driving me nuts. I’m sorry you had to experience a MC too xx

@kittycat581 have you had any more contact from the EPU since? I’ve found mine quite unhelpful. Reading some of the other posts it looks like the bleeds can vary. If you’re struggling have you thought about asking for a D&C?

They basically told me that if it didn’t start within 72 hours I needed to go back and if it was so heavy that I was ‘flooding’ I should go back but other than that I just had to take the pregnancy test in 3 weeks.

It’s rubbish isn’t it! It’s my first. I thought I was going for my 12 week Scan but it turned out I was only 6 weeks so then had to do the whole wait and see for 10 days before medical management. And now I don’t know when it will end and when I can get back to normal!

It’s awful isn’t it - my hormones are still all over the place as well - are yours? xx
