2 miscarriages and pregnant again

I miscarried in September and December last year (both under 8 weeks) and with both of those I didn’t have morning sickness.

When I was 19 and later in my 20s I got pregnant and had morning sickness pretty much straight away and it was severe. Unfortunately as the pregnancies weren’t planned, I wasn’t ready and it was something that caused me anxiety I had an abortion.

I’m pregnant for the 3rd time at 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant and I don’t have morning sickness. I feel like this is going to be another miscarriage and I’m being punished for my abortions.

Has anyone else not experienced morning sickness in one and not in the other and were fine?

I’m 38

Many Thanks

You’re not being punished for your abortions, please don’t think that. You are much older now and rates of miscarriage go up the older you get, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have a healthy baby. I’ve never had morning sickness, but my BF has had 4 healthy pregnancies, with horrendous sickness almost at HG level with no.1, 2 and 4. Nothing at all with no.3, was absolutely fine. It just goes that way sometimes. It might be that your body is coping better with the hormones this time.

@MAJKER30 please don’t my feel like you are being punished for what has happened in the past, whatever happens that isn’t the case. I don’t have experience of sickness with different pregnancies but I just wanted to say that every pregnancy is totally different and one particular symptom isn’t an indicator of a healthy pregnancy. I recently had a mmc and was extremely sick from the 6 week mark even though I had a blighted ovum so baby had stopped progressing almost straight away after conception. I was sick up until I miscarried at 8 weeks. I was convinced all was fine as I was so sick - you really can’t know that a pregnancy is progressing as it should from symptoms alone. You are also still very early so sickness may hit within the next couple of weeks. As long as you don’t have any bleeding or severe cramping try to relax and not panic, I know it’s hard to do. Maybe book in for a early scan if you are able to for some reassurance, I think some places offer them from 6 weeks. Hope everything works out well for you xxx

Thank you so much to both of you. It’s so nice to have some kind of reassurance. I know it’s out of my hands, but sometimes that’s the issue, right? You can only do so much and it’s one of the things you can’t control.

Once again, thank you so much! Xxx

It really is so hard! no amount of worrying can change anything though so try to enjoy as best you can. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy xx
