Retained product 5 weeks later

So 5 weeks after my medically managed miscarriage and several faint positives later I’ve been scanned by the epau and they confirmed that I’ve got retained products and a cyst on my right ovary. I was hoping my bleeding was my first period as I’d had at least 2 weeks of no bleeding and everything felt fine, I then got a fever, abdomen pain, diarrhoea and then I started to bleed and a day later the clots. Feels like it’s happening all over again. They’ve said they think I have viral gastroenteritis, it just seems like a big coincidence it’s all happening at once. They were amazing at the epau this time and a dr actually sat down with me to talk (this meant a lot after what I’ve been through with other medical professionals during the miscarriage). I just want it to be over it still doesn’t feel like I can even attempt to move on. Plus means waiting another 4-6 weeks to see if a period comes to find out if there’s any more retained product. No one tells you any of this! It’s only on here and miscarriage association that you hear about how long any of this can actually take. They just say you can try again after first period but don’t say that might take several months as it is 😔. It seems ttc is on the back burner until this is all cleared out.

I'm so sorry. This seems like such a cruel thing to go through. I'm waiting for a natural miscarriage to happen. The waiting is torture. I just want to be able to start trying again. I completely sympathise with you xx

Thank you, I’m very sorry for you loss. I can completely sympathise the wait is torture I chose medical management to have it ‘over and done with’ so I could move on (as much as I can move on because I certainly haven’t moved on from the grief of it) but it seems this option although started things off didn’t complete it the way I had hoped. I hope things start getting better for you soon x

Hi @Will867 and @FrankieChips how did you end up dealing with this issue. I hope you are doing well and I am sorry really for your losses.
I am at the same situation. I was released after medical management a month ago that was told that everything went well. But My beta HCG did not go down and last week in the scan they find a 1 cm pregnancy tissue is left and my endometrium is still thick about 12 mm. I used misoprostol for 5 days, 2 tablets per day with no sign of bleeding. It did not worked at all. Now they gave me two options to wait... for a few months or do the surgery.

Sorry @littleangle46 I missed your post. The natural way was a nightmare tbh. Lots of bleeding and I went into A&E at one point. The miscarriage happened on the 7th of July and I’m still bleeding. Been back and forth for scans and there’s still a small amount of product apparently but not enough for surgery. They have given my antibiotics as a precaution and I’ve to contact my GP in a week who will be useless. It’s been so awful. I hope you’re okay x

Sorry to hear about your losses. Hope all turned out well and you can share a positive ending :)

I had a MMC over 6 weeks ago and took misoprostol. I had to repeat it a week later as an ultrasound revealed 3cm "blood clot". A second scan a week after showed a "blood clot" of around 1.2cm which I was told would be reabsorbed or would come out with my next period.

I haven't bled in over five weeks and was getting positive tests so I went private on Monday. Dr saw RPOC of 4mm with a lot of vascularisation and 17mm lining. She has started me on Dienogest / estradiol to reduce lining and vascularisation and to try and flush out the RPOC with the bleed. I finally got a negative test earlier this week so hope I am heading in the right direction. Anyone have any tips or positive stories? Really wanted to TTC again so feeling very down :(
