Miscarriage- how long did it take?

Hi so I had some brown blood on Friday night and this progressed into red/ pink blood over Saturday and Sunday with some small clots and had cramps all day Sunday. Had my scan on Monday which confirmed that the baby had no heartbeat and measured 6wk2 days. I was about 7 was 5 days. The bleeding got heavier yesterday to more of a period flow and I’m still getting cramps- similar to bad period pain but not unbearable. So I’m just wondering from this point, do you think it’s likely to happen over the next couple of days? Did anyone else have one that sort of build up over a few days? I know everyone’s miscarriage is different I just hate being stuck in limbo like this. Also going through this during the pandemic is horrible. Finding out that news whilst on my own. Put in a room at 2metres from the nurse and being told you can’t have a d and c because of the virus makes me feel really abandoned.

@MrsMcCarthysFamousScones Did you have a gradual process or did it all come at once?

Hello @MrsT1205 I'm so sorry. I'm going through a similar experience to you. I was getting early scans because of a blocked Fallopian tube and twins. One twin was not progressing but the other was. Unfortunately yesterday at my scan (7+3) was informed that the other twin was now no longer progressing and to expect a miscarriage soon.

I haven't had any bleeding at all and no cramps. I have a feeling this will be a long process. I don't want to go through the surgical way if I can help it.

@frankechips it’s rubbish isn’t it. I’m really sorry you’re going through this too. The worst week of my life. My bleeding has slowed down a bit since I posted this so feeling very frustrated xx

I’m sorry you are going through this.

I had a mmc in January at 12 weeks, pregnancy hadn’t progressed past 8+2. 3 days Before my 12 week scan I Had brown discharge and very slight period like cramps, So booked a private scan as the hospital just told me to take paracetamol, it was confirmed at the private scan that the pregnancy had stopped weeks before. The morning before what should have been my official 12 week scan it turned to light bleeding And by the evening it was heavy with large clots, later that night I passed the pregnancy. I still had to go to the hospital for a scan to check everything had passed which it hadn’t, I had 2cm of retained tissue which I opted to leave and hope my body did the rest. I passed the retained tissue 3 days later and bled for about a week, just like a normal period. It took 5 weeks for my next cycle so all in all about a 6 week process before everything was back to normal. I hope the next few weeks go smoothly for you x

Sorry for your loss. Mine took about 4 days in total from spotting through to loss of the sac. I was 9 weeks and had a scan on day 2, there was still a faint heartbeat. Progressed from period like pain to very early contraction type pain (manageable pain, and clear spikes and breaks)... 🤞its a simple process for you. Xxxx
