MMC pain relief

Hi there
I'm just over 10 weeks. Went for a private scan earlier in the week and sadly discovered a MMC. I was going to go to EPU on Monday to talk options, as they are only open to A&E referrals at weekend but bleeding started tonight. While the scan was a horrible shock I feel it at least gave me a little time to get mentally prepared. However I am quite worried about pain relief, having read posts on here. I'm stocked up on ibruprofen for tonight but suspect that might not really be adequate if things really get going. Im a bit worried about traumatising pre schooler DC who for obvious reasons is around in the house. If things started getting out of control and I went to A&E would they give me something more like codeine do you think? Or do you think it's better to weather it at home? Is there another way of getting strong pain relief late at night on a Saturday? I'm guessing not but would be glad if anyone has ideas or tips
