3 missed miscarriage

I have 3 missed miscarriages which were conceived naturally and had no successful pregnancy. I am almost 40 and feel really sad that we may never have our own child. Anyone has been through that and how can u cope? Any advice on the next steps? Many thanks.

Flowers I had three consecutive miscarriages but then at 42 went out to have a successful pregnancy.

The hospital had just started investigations when I got pregnant again. I was in denial about that pregnancy almost, it was too stressful to relax and accept it. But all went well.

They did treat me with blood thinning injections in that last pregnancy but never found any underlying condition. It’s very hard.

@Fightthebear thank you for sharing your story and glad that you have a great outcome.

I see what you are saying. I didn’t have high hope in my 3rd pregnancy too but it still broke my heart when I knew it was another miscarriage. It just hard to not think about it when it is growing inside ur womb...

Did hospital recommend you to do the investigation first before trying the 4th time? They referred me to the clinic but am not sure how long is the wait and time is running out at my side. I don’t know what’s the best way forward. Should I wait for test result come clean before trying again? Many thanks.

Actually I got pregnant without trying when I was waiting to be seen in the recurrent miscarriage clinic. I think given I was 41 by then I wouldn’t have wanted to delay anyway.

The whole experience was really miserable, I hope things go well for you.

Its such an awful thing you are going though and you are never alone in Mumsnet.

I would try to get pregnant whilst waiting for the referral.

I would also get this book...

I would also try for a GP appointment to make a plan for the moment you get a positive pregnancy test next time. This might include specific blood tests, early scan, checking length of neck of womb, referral to a consultant. Good luck.

I went through three CPs and it was thyroid related, my TSH was 4 and it should be closer to 1 but certainly under 2.5. This may not be relevant if your miscarriages were later though.

The book above is excellent. As it 2nd Ed It Starts with the Egg.

So sorry you're going through this. Flowers

I also had 3 mmc. The wait between 3rd miscarriage and 1st investigation was 2 months, then 2nd blood test 3 weeks later. Came back as positive for APS, I was pregnant again a month later and it’s going well so far now I’m treated with aspirin and heparin. I’m 39 this year so understand how scary any sort of wait is. Good luck and sorry for your losses x
