5 weeks pregnant -light bleeding

i am five weeks pregnant and had some spotting this afternoon around 4pm which has developed into a light bleed.

i do not have any cramps and it is not heavier than a period.

i have three children so rest is out of the question.

i have had a miscarriage before, but cannot remember if it started like this.

what do you think?

What colour is the blood? Is it red or the browner stuff?

Oh, that's not quite a promising. That said, there are lots and lots of women on MN who have bled and who have gone on to have healthy babies. Will keep my fingers crossed for you. No cramps and not too heavy is good I would say.

thanks beansprout, i know what you mean. dh away on business. was a shock i was pregnant but was looking forward to it.

will just have to see.

oh dear

if it gets worse or you get cramps, you could see if you can get to teh EPU as soon as possible

fingers crossed that it will settle down.

cant really get to the epu before monday, three children at home, dh away on business.

mil away on holiday. my mum leg in plaster.

will have to see how things go and wait until monday

Hope that it settles down for you, this is such a scary time, if its any help, when pregnant last year, i had a bleed at 10 weeks that was brown, old blood, turned out that i had had a MMC, The next pregnancy at 5+3 i had a bright red bleed for 1 day and now my 4 week old boy is laying in his chair, so the colour dosn't always mean bad x

had mc's but not like that. had bleeding at 5wks with all 3 successful pgs...a worry, but turned out ok for me.

oh tank you ladies, it has died down a little. i am going to bed now, house like a bomb site, but do not care.

my mum is coming over with dad tomorrow so may be able to nip to hospital depends on how the kids are as my mum has leg in plaster.

Good luck. Thinking of you. If it makes you feel better, My friend had bright red spotting although the first trimester and she had a little boy last week!

cba, hope it is ok. I had bleeding (red) throughout the whole of my 1st pregnancy. Ended up being a low placenta, bleeding occasionally, ds fine. I was rather anxious throughout though. Thinking of you.

hey ppl?? i got a ?... i found out i waz pergo with my 2nd kid on v-day and waz alittle scared but happy and last night i started bledding a little then all day today i have been in pain then tonight i have a big blood clot come out??do ya'll think im haveing a miscarriage? and should i go to the hospilte every one keeps telling me two?? help me what should i do?[hmm}]
