An introduction to this thread. It has been running for many years and has proved a saviour for so many of us who have suffered recurrent miscarriages as we go through this incredibly tough journey.

Discussions cover immune issues, NK (natural killer) cells, thyroid issues, PGS and many many more.

That’s a great result @Wishing5tar. Good luck for Friday! No, the trigger shot doesn’t hurt at all. It’s just like a pinch and it’s done before you know it. It goes in your tummy (about 2 inches from your bellybutton). I’m going to test again in the morning again if my period hasn’t come by then. X

How many DPO are you @Crystal2020?

I'm testing out my trigger shot and so stressed!

@Countrygirl220 fantastic news!! I'm so pleased to hear this! @Crystal2020, keep the faith, it's all too easy to let negative thoughts take over (I know easier said than done).

@Wishing5tar Yay! I do prefer seeing Dr S as I guess he's the main man! We always take a cool bag packed with goodies and lunch and then bring the trigger back in it with ice packs! I actually like the drive as it's the only place we have been in lockdown - it's like a day out!

I'm feeling a little crampy today on the left side again! And my husband has just walked over to me and said out the blew 'what if it's twins?' with a big grin! I said I'm sure if that was the case I'd have had symptoms! I said I just hope there's at least 1 sticky bean in there!

@Crystal2020 I know it's hard to be positive as I have those days when I run to the toilet to check for spotting! Positive thoughts only, AF will stay away 🤞🏽 xxx

@Crystal2020 did you test again? Thinking of you 💜

Our consultation and scan at the clinic this morning went really well ☺️ I had two follicles on my right side that were ready to go (20mm and 23mm) so they gave me the trigger shot there and then 👏🏽 There was no sizeable follicles on the left side but he did say I had some cysts round the outside so he has started me on Inofolic to see if that helps - does anyone take this? He said I don’t have PCOS but I was just showing some mild symptoms 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did hear him mention to the nurse that my lining was a bit on the thin side but he never mentioned that when he talked us through the results so I’m guessing he didn’t think it was an issue 🤞🏽

Me and DH also got the covid antibody test done and should get the results on Monday.

@HoldingOn2Hope You’re totally right about it being a day out 😂 I’ve loved nosing out the window today, although I’m pretty sure I’ll be glad to be home again after nearly 10 hours in the car! How’re you feeling now? Still symptom spotting?

@peperethecat when is your official test day? How has testing the trigger out been? I’m tempted to do the same but don’t know if I’ll just drive myself mad 🙈😂

I hope everyone else is okay? Happy Friday xx

@Wishing5tar it should say your lining thickness on your scan report. It will usually have the mm and then say “satisfactory” (which it must have been or he wouldn’t have given you the trigger!).

He gave me inofolic. I don’t have PCOS but hypothyroidism (which I have) can cause harmless small cysts on the ovaries which can give them the appearance of polycystic ovaries. I’ve done lots of research and it’s a variation of normal ovaries and has no implications for fertility whatsoever. I felt like he was just flogging me the inofolic - costs a fortune! - but I did buy it because felt like I’d try anything. Personally I think it’s a waste of time if you don’t have pcos and you’re on the SO programme, because the main thing it does for you is make you ovulate!

Glad you had such a positive scan - good luck for this weekend! My recommendation is not to overdo the sex - just do what Mr S told you!

@Wishing5tar Yayyy that's great news! Good size follicles too for day 9/19 scan! Will be keeping everything crossed for you 😁 I have no symptoms to spot 😑 just really achy sore boobs first thing in the morning and then it wears off, not sure whether taking the pred does that. Oh and I'm starting to feel tired by 9pm whereas I'm usually up til atleast midnight! The bloated tummy is still there too.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, I'll be sipping on virgin mojitos this eve :)

@HarrietM87 Just found it on the scan paperwork - it says 6.82mm and average - I’m not sure if that’s okay or not? He just wrote to monitor it next time 🤷🏻‍♀️ Fingers crossed it thickens a bit more over the next couple of days 🤞🏽

I’ve just been reading the booklet on the Inofolic and like you, I’d try anything right now so going to give it a go ☺️ Does it taste okay? I don’t have any of the other symptoms that it lists and he asked if I ever struggled to loose weight or did I think any weight gain was my diet 🙈 I was honest and said it’s definitely my diet and if I set my mind to it, I can loose weight but lockdown + boredom and being stuck in the house ain’t doing my waistline any favours 😂

Thanks for the advice re overdoing it! My DH was wanting to get straight to it but I told him the instructions were there for a reason and he’d have to wait until tomorrow 😂

Hi @wishing5star dr s has given me inofolic and I've never been diagnosed with pscos. He said he wanted me to have it as my amh was so high for my age suggesting that my egg reserves level may not be as high as we think and that can be related to minor PCOS symptoms - in short he said it can't hurt but is a bit of a fail safe just in case there was anything PCOS related going on in there. They taste fine although they don't really dissolve very well! You can also buy them direct online for ever so slightly cheaper than the clinic if you need to top up later!

@Holdingon2hope hey lovely did you get my private msg reply?

Hope you're all doing ok! Xx

Report
HarrietM87 · 29/05/2020 19:34

@Wishing5tar he likes lining to be 7mm at trigger so you’re only just under, and it thickens by 1-2mm per day so you’ll be absolutely fine by the time you ovulate.

The inofolic tastes quite nice really. I felt kind of rushed into it at the clinic and it was only when I read up on it later that I thought I’d prob been slightly conned! But it has folic acid which you should take when ttc anyway and certainly won’t do any harm.

Re sex - the first time I conceived on SO we only did it twice, exactly when Mr S said. This time we did it on the day of the trigger as well, so 3 times in total. If you wanna go tonight then do it! I just meant don’t aim for more than once a day or anything extreme like that!

Ha now reading @hrtbrk2’s post I wonder if he’s on some sort of inofolic commission! He didn’t say there was any issue with my ovaries first time round before he obvs got his inofolic deal 🤣

HoldingOn2Hope · 29/05/2020 20:04

@hrtbrk2 yes I've sent you a msg about an hour ago :)

I wasn't recommended the Inofolic although he did push for DH to see the male fertility consultant which I refused. I said if the meds aren't working for me (at the time I was on letrezole) why would I need my husband to do that? He just rolled his eyes at me. As my DH reminds me that he's an amazing consultant but he's a business too!

@Wishing5tar If I am honest I would not recommend testing out the trigger. It's driving me insane! But I did half shots on 3 DPO and 6 DPO as well, so it's not that long since my last one. My test line was getting paler every day until Wednesday and now it's just stalled. It doesn't seem to be getting fainter or darker. WTF is going on?! 😭

I'm considering getting a blood test tomorrow.

Wishing5tar · 30/05/2020 15:55

@HarrietM87 thanks for the info re lining thickness ☺️ that has made me feel better. Dr Google didn’t help (as usual! 😂) when I tried to google what the perfect thickness for ovulation/implantation would be. I’ve taken two of the Inofolic now and I agree what you and @hrtbrk2 have said regarding the taste - they taste of nothing which is good!

@peperethecat did you manage to get a blood test done today? How come you had two half shots too? We just get the one 250ml shot and that’s it, just curious why they do it differently in France ☺️

peperethecat · 30/05/2020 16:12

My doctor thinks it can help with implantation by sending a signal to the corpus luteum to produce more progesterone.

Anyway, I'm fed up. I did my blood test this morning but the result hasn't come through which means I won't get it until Tuesday (Monday is a bank holiday here) and all the lines on my cheapies are just staying the same colour now.

I feel like I'm out but the HCG is just going to take forever to leave my system.

HarrietM87 · 30/05/2020 16:44

@peperethecat I looked this up recently as I got a faint bfp the cycle before I conceived at 9dpo and then bfn at 10dpo. It takes up to 12 days for the trigger to leave your system but for most people it’s gone by 10dpo which proved to be the case for me and I guess why we are told to test at 10dpo. I agree it’s not a good idea to test out the trigger - wastes a fortune in the expensive tests! Hope you get some clarity soon and good luck!

peperethecat · 30/05/2020 16:49

I am only a week past my last shot (which was a half shot) so I don't think I can rely on those times. It's not costing me a lot because I'm only using the cheapies but I'm just frustrated that they have all been exactly the same colour for days. I really thought that by now the line would have either faded away to almost nothing or started to get darker.

Our friends have invited us to go to theirs for the weekend and they will notice immediately if I don't drink. It's so stressful to not be able to just POAS knowing that if there's a line it means I'm pregnant.

I think I will just drink in modération because I'm pretty sure it would be obvious by now if there was something to get excited about.

Report
HarrietM87 · 30/05/2020 19:14

@peperethecat how many dpo do you think you are? I think the cheapies (one step) are pretty unreliable. In my first pregnancy I tested the same urine with 4 different tests on 10dpo and there was a faint line on only one of them. Also a faint line on a frer (and I was pregnant).

If you’re at least 10dpo then I think you should take a frer to check. If you’re less than 10dpo then a few drinks will do no harm anyway.

Report
peperethecat · 30/05/2020 19:20

I should be 13 DPO based on when I did the original trigger shot but based on my temps I'm pretty sure I'm only 12 DPO.

All my tests are positive. It's just that I don't know whether it's from the trigger or a pregnancy. The cheapies I use are very sensitive (the easy@home ones, in my last pregnancy I got a shadow on one of those when my HCG was only 11) and from Sunday to Wednesday the line was clearly getting fainter. I was hoping that by now it would have either faded completely or started getting darker but I've just had the same faint line on them since Wednesday now.

Did a FRER this morning and will do another on Monday for a comparison.

Ladies has anyone on here ever had uterine scarring after surgical management? I'm really worried that I might have. I still havent had a period, but at exactly 4 weeks and 8 weeks after my last surgery, I've felt like I'm going to get my period then it hasn't come, no bleed but I've had horrific lower abdominal pain, it feels like I'm going to explode. I can't move and have had to take heavy painkillers. I've self diagnosed a hematometra where the blood in the uterus can't leave as exit is blocked, but am really worried I may have ashermans now. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Hey everyone, I’m new and not really sure how any of this works but stumbled across this thread which I can see has some v useful info 😊. I’m 36, had 3 miscarriages since 2017, (one at 7wks, one missed at 10 wks and the most recent a month ago - a chemical). My blood tests all came back normal at the end of last year, and we’re now in a bit of a limbo situ waiting for a fertility clinic to re-open for further tests. Thinking of visiting Prof Quenby’s clinic (also when it re-opens!) - has anyone been? Sorry you’ve all been through this X

Hi @Eeviee that sounds horrible, poor you. I've had 2 ERPCs but I've not experienced any delays in my period although I have had it where the second period (weirdly not the first) was much heavier and more painful. But I was going to say with both ops I had a 6-week check up, one where I had a scan to check that nothing was left. Have you/can you get a follow-up?

@Hazlet2 I'm sorry for your losses and that you find yourself here, but these ladies are amazing I actually feel they know more than the doctors! Most people here are under Dr Shehata who specializes in immune testing specifically NK-cells. I think there might be one or two though who have seen Prof Quenby.

@peperethecat good luck for your test tomorrow

Hope everyone else is well and has been topping up on the vitamin D!x
