Shoulder tip pain?????

Yesterday I started with like a warm uncomfortable feeling radiating from right side of my neck down my arm.

Just want to ensure that this isn't shoulder tip pain as I am panicking? I am currently going through a miscarriage.

I've not experienced the "shoulder tip pain" but I would certainly be contacting 111 at the very least or taking a trip to A&E to rule out an eptopic pregnancy. Covid or no covid it's not something you really wanna "wait and see" with

I too would go and get that looked at. Shoulder tip pain is as it says, on your shoulder tip in the middle of your back. It feels a bit like wind that won't move. But any unusual pain during a mc should be checked.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

@Undomesticgodde55 @Imnotaslimjim I'm pretty sure it's a pulled muscle in my back near my neck. Not getting any cramps in my stomach at all and minimal bleeding now so I think the miscarriage maybe coming to an end

I've had two ectopics- both ruptured and trust me the shoulder tip pain is the last symptom really before passing out. It's caused by internal bleeding reaching your diaphragm. If it was ectopic you'd know about it before it reaches that point at the rupture itself is the most horrendous pain

Sounds like a pulled muscle or perhaps stress related due to what's happened 💐

@ivfgottostaypositive Thank you. I needed someone to tell me that. I think it's just a coincidence that I've got stress or pulled muscle pain. I thought it would be the case. Thank you so much for your reply

I've had classic shoulder tip pain and it was at the tip of my shoulder where it it becomes my arm, not near my neck or back but that doesn't mean pain there isn't a sign of an ectopic.

www.nhs.uk/conditions/ectopic-pregnancy/symptoms/

That's the NHS page with ectopic symptoms and advice.

It does sound muscular but keep a v close eye. I'm so sorry.

@ShowOfHands what did the pain feel like when you had it?

OP posts:
Nannon145 · 13/05/2020 19:32

@ShowOfHands mine is Defo a warm hot pain going from my neck to my back

It felt a bit like I'd slept awkwardly I suppose. Its hard to describe. V localised, sharp, didn't move.

I sometimes trap a nerve in my neck/shoulder and the muscle spasms and that's an entirely different pain. It's a hot pain and it travels along the nerve, down the arm and back etc.

It feels like a foot cramp on the outside of your shoulder and runs up to behind ear x

Had a very very very very very very faint line on a FRER this morning. Am I right in thinking that over the next few days this will disappear? There is no chance that this will ever get darker?

I'm only asking because I don't really want to waste another pregnancy test to see it be negative but then if I am fortunate to get pregnant straight away, I want to be certain that it is a new pregnancy so there is no way a pregnancy test can get darker after a miscarriage unless you are pregnant again??? Hope this makes sense

How far along were you? Is it a confirmed miscarriage?

Hcg does take a wee while to disappear and it depends on how far on you are. But it can also hang around in the case of an incomplete miscarriage. Personally, I would and did need a negative test before trying again.

How are you feeling today?

Nannon145 · 14/05/2020 15:45

@ShowOfHands I was 6 weeks but I'd been bleeding on and off from 4 weeks so pretty sure everything has gone.

I'm feeling much better today. Shoulder is fine so I think it was just stress pain!

I hope you've continued to feel better. I'm so sorry about your miscarriage. I wouldn't be surprised if the stress was the cause. I know when I'm anxious, I get a sore neck and back from the tension.
