Miscarriage at 6 weeks - no pains?

I'm supposed to be 6 weeks pregnant today but was spotting on friday and yesterday and this morning but was fresh red blood light to medium flow all day. I have convinced myself that its gone. But surely there should be more blood and some pain or at least cramping?

My epu is calling me tomorrow does anyone have any experience of miscarriage like this.

I've previously had a MMC at 12 week medically managed and bled for 4 weeks and was in agony.

Meant to say I've also done a pregnancy test today that is very faint so I'm not kidding my self that I'm still pregnant.

Hi,

I'm sorry you are going through this. I'm sure it is different for a everyone but in my experience (2 losses - one in the 5th/6th week and one in the 6th/7th) I was bleeding for a week before it actually happened. It started with brown/pink blood when wiping, it was on and off a bit too, then bleeding got heavier and then there was no mistaking when it actually happened. I felt a sort of weird contraction feeling, and a sudden urge to go to the toilet, even though I didn't need to go. I then passed 'it' in the toilet and there was no doubt that it was over. The pain was just before and a few days after for me (but manageable with painkillers and a hot water bottle). It's different for everyone, of course.

It's a shitty thing to go through and I'm sorry you've already had a loss previously Thanks

Hi I'm praying everything's okay for you. I didn't have pain with the bleeding initially but I did after going to the hospital with a few cramps. However, every case is different and you'll know better after getting a scan.

Epu were reluctant to scan me as I'm not bleeding heavily or in any pain and they have covid in the hospital. I've booked a private scan for weds even though I already know, i just want to be sure it's all gone.

I'm so sorry they wouldn't scan you. Thinking of you ❤️

They said I could go in tomorrow but would be putting itself under unnecessary risk, we gave a family funeral in just over a week with elderly relatives so dont really want to risk being Ill.

My DH is against me going to the hospital so private scan seems the best option.

Just to update, had scan last night.

Total miscarriage, nothing left and womb lining back in normal range.

I'm relieved its complete and no further treatment is needed.

For how much blood I lost I think it must have been a chemical pregnacy as I didnt pass any clots or tissue at all.

The private scan was lovely, very comforting.

@Skybooks exactly the same happened to em. Bleeding stopped yesterday after only 3 days of medium to heavy flow but my pregnancy test this morning had the faintest line ever so not long till it's negative.

Just wondered if you knew, I don't really want to do another pregnancy test now because it's a waste when it was practically negative this morning so if I don't, there is no chance of it getting darker after a miscarriage is there?
I'm just thinking we are going to try straight away so if we are one of the people who get pregnant straight after a miscarriage, I don't want to get a darker positive and think it's still from the miscarriage I had but surely that's not possible for it to get darker?

Skybooks · 14/05/2020 21:17

@Nannon145 I cant imagine it getting Barker. I'm going to test next week and them start ovulation tests.

Sorry it's happened to you too, good luck.

@Skybooks got my positive OPK on CD14 which was yesterday which is earlier than normal for me, I usually get it on CD18/19. Have been getting egg white CM too though so assuming I must be coming up to ovulating. Haven’t had any pains yet tho.

How you getting on?
