I had a miscarriage last year at 8 weeks. I ended up bleeding for a month and when I was rescanned they found retained products. I was given medical management pills which caused further bleeding for about a week and I then started to lose huge clots the size of my hand. I was admitted to hospital where they scanned me again and found that there was still remaining tissue. I then had to have a D&C which worked.
Does anyone know what causes retained products and why my body was still not able to expel the tissue during the medical management? Is there a likely issue with my uterus? I do have one child and I am keen to try for another but I'm just anxious that there is something wrong with me.
