Medical miscarriage not starting?

I was told at my 12 week scan last Thursday that I had a blighted ovum and the pregnancy had not progressed at all. I had continued to have pregnancy symptoms and no bleeding or cramping so I chose to have medical management.

I've had some light bleeding, similar to a period, since taking the misoprostol on Thursday afternoon but nothing else.

Has anyone else taken a while for things to get started and not needed to take more medication or have further intervention? I just feel in limbo at the moment, and really apprehensive about what might happen next.

I only had light bleeding and minimal cramping after taking misoprostol, although I had technically being miscarrying for 4 weeks already. Didn't think it was working but a couple of nights later I felt something come out and when I went to the toilet and there on the paper when I wiped was the rest of the tissue

I had a medical miscarriage (same circumstances) and about five hours after having the pills inserted, I was cramping badly and passing clots. It eased off after three hours. I would say if you’re concerned to call the EPU.

Thanks anon I took the tablets orally so maybe that's why they're taking longer. EPU are closed for the bank hol but will ring on Tuesday if nothing continues to happen.

How have you got on over the weekend? I am in a similar position. The misoprostol gave me terrible cramps, diarrhea and vomiting but bleeding has been very light, I’m worried that not enough is passing.

I’m doing okay. Tapering off. Wondering if I’ve bled a little longer cause I was further along. How are you doing?

Bleeding still ongoing for me, been about 6 days now but it’s lighter than a period, hopefully will be finished soon. Hope you are feeling better and getting through it ok x
