Hello .

I was just wondering how soon after a D&C will I expect to get a negative result .

I had a medical management and unfortunately had 2 -3 cm of tissue left over so had to have a D&C surgery . This was 15 days ago now and was told at 3 weeks after to do a test . I could t help it and have done it a bit earlier .

I done one today and had a very very faint line !

I am so worried I may have tissue still even after medical management and a D&C .

Is this normal to have a slight faint positive ? I don't want to have to go back up the hospital with everything going on .

Nice to hear from anyone else in or has been in this positive . XxxX

So sorry for your loss Flowers I had an MVA at the end of last year which I’m assuming is pretty much the same procedure and it took me just under 4 weeks to get a negative test. What I would say is that if you are testing on one of the more sensitive brands e.g First Response it is still likely to show as a faint positive. I would give it until at least the 3 weeks and hopefully you will receive a negative or at the very least a much fainter line - this is what happened to me. You just need to give it a little time, which I know is hard when you just want it all to be over xxx

I am so sorry to hear of your loss also !
Just not fair when these things happen .
This was just a cheap test I'm now wishing I maybe got a clear blue .

Maybe I should give it some more time then if you didn't get one till near 4 weeks after .

Just want it to be over . Especially after the tablets not working then having to have surgery . I don't think my anxiety can take anymore .

I forget that hormones will possibly still be high perhaps .

Thankyou for sharing ! Xx

Hi, am so sorry for your loss. I think everyone is different. I had a d&c two weeks ago today and took a pregnancy test yesterday and it came back negative xx

Sorry for your loss. How far along were you? That will have a baring on how long HCG will stay in your system, and what level it got to before the MC. I cant see a line on the test, but doesn't mean there aren't still small amounts left in your system. I've had 2 myself, and also a retained product with the first. Sending hugs Flowers

I was what I thought 12 weeks pregnant went for our scan and there was no heartbeat I had a missed miscarriage at baby stopped developing between 7 and 8 weeks . But I had severe sickness all the way up to and after I was told I had lost the baby . The sickness for me didn't stop until after the medical management . I was actually prescribed meds for the sickness when I was 9 weeks and to think that the baby wasn't even alive then is just hard to think of . So pregnancy hormone wise I was awful . Then had a D&C over 2 weeks ago as had tissue left over .

So now I'm thinking when will I get a negative . Just want this over so I can try and move on as a constant reminder

Thankyou for the kind words and so sorry for everyone's loss ! XxxxX

I found out I'd miscarried on the 30th September 19 thought I'd passed everything by the 6th if October after having a massive bleed and passing hand sized clots. Did the pregnancy test a week later and it was still positive. Told to wait another 2 weeks and phone up if it was still the same. 2 tests later and it was still positive all but very very faint. Went for a scan and I was still retaining tissue. Had the option of continuing as I was, misoprostol or D&C chose the Tablets and eventually passed the rest of it on the 2ns of November so 5 weeks in total for mine
