I found out I was pregnant during the week after taking a test on the advice of my GP, by date of conception I would have been 7 weeks today. I found out yesterday that the bleeding I’ve been experiencing is likely a miscarriage, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice.
I had my bloods done and my hcg came back at 4500, and I had an abdominal scan done which didn’t show anything - the doctor doing the scan (on call gynae registrar) had trouble locating my uterus, which after a rummage around during an internal examination, he said is quite retroverted so probably why he has trouble finding it on the US. He said as well there was evidence of tissue passing around my cervix but while I’ve been bleeding on and off for almost 2 weeks, and had what I thought was a lighter period before this bleeding started, I’ve not had much in the way of clots.
I have an appointment with the EPC for Friday, and I have no idea what to expect and I’m worried about having retained products, although I have no idea at what stage the miscarriage will have occurred. I’ve been getting cramping and some heavier bleeding but nothing like a heavy period which is more what I would have expected.
