Not falling pregnant after miscarriage

ladies,

Hope any of you can share some of your experiences with me to make me feel less anxious.

I found out that I was pregnant in March 2019, arrived at my 12 week scan on 7th may 2019 to find out that I had a MMC (baby stopped growing 8/9 weeks) which was then followed by a D&C. After this my periods were all over the place and it took me until October 2019 to get my periods back to normal (cycle 34 days).

I had blood tests along with an internal and external scan done in November 2019 which all came back clear (no PCOS etc). I ovulate every month which is confirmed by clear blue ovulation tests.

BUT I am still not pregnant. Me and my partner are defiantly having sex at the right times but it just doesn’t seem to happen.

Is anyone in the same position as me? Does anyone have any success story’s with being in the same position as me? I just need some guidance and reassurance and just hope that it happens to me some time soon.

Thanks for reading x

Just bumping this for you really.

It really is going to happen for you, it takes a good few cycles for some women's periods to return to normal after a miscarriage.

I'm in the same position, been trying since October since a missed miscarriage as well. Which I also found out wasn't viable at the 12 week scan. I hope someone else will come along with a positive story because I've not yet conceived but I honestly feel like my body mas my periods have only just gone back to a normal cycle in length and in the time that the bleeding lasts for.

We will get pregnant this year, that I can most certainly assure you but it could take another 6 months, honestly that is normal 🌈🙏

So sorry for your loss. So the time between the MMc and your periods returning to normal I wouldn't count. So that's only October to February, which must feel like forever but it isn't that long. Have you been using the digital ovulation tests?

Annieelle1 · 25/02/2020 10:46

Thank you for your responses ladies.

I admire your positivity @ChampooPapi. Sorry for your loss :(.

@legalseagull please can I ask why you wouldn't count the months when my periods were all over the place?

Thanks

I was in the same place, found out I’d had a MMC end of July 2018, cycle all over the place til probably January, skipped two periods altogether which was upsetting! Finally fell in July 2019 and now 34 weeks. Took a long time to feel normal again!

legalseagull · 25/02/2020 13:01

Because I don’t think you can rely on your hormone cycle and ovulation being totally back to normal.

Annieelle1 · 25/02/2020 13:48

Congrats @starlightmagic I'm glad youhave had positive news. Hopefully it won't take much longer for us girls!

I had a missed miscarriage in May 2018 (on my birthday). Fell pregnant this time last year and have a 3 month old now. The miscarried baby wasn't planned and my previous two pregnancies had come.about first month (but bizarrely not my first Who had taken 18 months to conceive). There was no medical reason for any of this and I was all set for investigations and ivf if necessary. We were definitely dtd at the right time of the month. The only thing was I was v stressed both in terms of the miscarriage, my mum had died by suicide in December 2017 and I was made redundant in December 2018. So a hell of s year and my peruods were all over the place for a while post miscarriage. New baby is lovely.... I was really worried I wouldn't bond after all the trauma but he's a delight.

Hi Annielle1 Did you get your rainbow baby? I'm currently in same position :( mc in July and Aug and since then no more pregnancies despite clear ovulation and doing the deed and this month I'm 6 days late and still no positive test, just wondered if you got your rainbow and how long it took? Xx

Trying93 · 31/01/2021 17:16

@mimig34 i had a mc june 2019 and didn't get pregnant again until December 2020. Sadly had a mc at 5/6 weeks and I fell pregnant straight away again without having a period. Currently 5-6 weeks just now. Dont give up hope it can take a while sometimes

MimiG34 · 31/01/2021 17:30

Aw congratulations ❤️ its so hard isn't it, hope all goes well, and thankyou fingers crossed xx

Can dp get bloods and sperm test?

I had a blighted ovum found out at 11 weeks
Then lost a baby due to an infection in the uterus at 22 weeks
I had gotten pregnant first go both times
It then took 9 months to get pregnant with my son, I was ovulating (blood test confirmed) and had regular periods. And I'd had 3 ultrasounds to check everything physically was fine.
After 8 months of trying DH had bloods and sperm done and was firing blanks! Apparently all the stress with losing the babies and working too hard at the gym made his hormone levels all wrong, he had a course of injections and we got pregnant the next month. We've got a gorgeous 7 month old rainbow now.

Our gp was happy to do investigations after 6 months of trying for both me and DH.

MimiG34 · 31/01/2021 21:04

Ah that's interesting, I do think the problem is with me though as my cycles havebt been as consistent as usual and I'm getting cramping at very random times and this cycle I'm on cd34 and still nothing except cramping I have wondered if there might be an infection tho causing the cramps, going to ring my gp tomorrow as the only thing they've done for me is check my cervix which seemed fine, although no results back from swabs yet so il chase those up too, my other half does like his kebabs and beer tho so I wouldn't rule out his sperm quality. Thankyou for the reply x

MrsMarrio · 31/01/2021 21:31

@MimiG34 I would keep pressuring the gp as it's been a while now, and I think it's worth you both getting checked now as you've had blood tests and scans. I also was convinced it was something to do with me. I know the feeling of thinking 'this might be the month' and then feeling so low at having your period it really takes a toll on your mental health. Which then in turn makes getting pregnant more stressful

MimiG34 · 31/01/2021 21:44

Thankyou, yes other months iv bounced back fairly quickly but this month because I have no period to end my misery I am feeling very low. Yes I'm calling gp tomorrow, gone on long enough thankyou xx

Try Having sex every other day. Don't use OPK sticks or assume there is a 'correct' time of the month. This is what a fertility dr told me after a year of trying - got pregnant the next month. Just sharing in case it works for you.

Marty13 · 03/02/2021 00:15

Don't know if that helps but if you had a d&C I'd ask them to check your lining as sometimes it can get damaged by the d&c.

Kaydee21 · 11/12/2021 16:11

Hi there, how is your situation now? Have you been lucky enough to fall pregnant? I had a MMC in may and due on in two days. Hoping this month is different. I haven't been checking ovulation but my periods have been normal literally since the month following. Sex at the right times I believe. Nothing. Its so disheartening.
