Hi all, I'm just reeling from my first miscarriage. started bleeding at 11 weeks and scan showed baby had died at 6. Feeling of loss is awful. Does anyone know if it is better to wait (and how long does it take?)for it to go naturally or is a erpc better? and what about the drug that someone told me they can give you (although the hospital didnt give me that option). Dont know what to do...anyones experiences would be very useful...Thanks

Hi, I'm back again. Had a period and then got pregnant straight away!!! I was very excited! At 6 weeks started with some brown discharge and went for an emergency scan. They said that I was 5 weeks and a yolk sac was present. Waited 2 weeks for another scan and on 8th Dec (8 weeks preg) was told the baby had grown but was only 6 weeks 2 days and had no heartbeat. The NHS told me I was going to miscarry again yet I still felt morning sickness! They made me wait in a room with heavily pregnant women and tiny babies!!! I also saw in my notes mention of a fibroid in my uterus that the nurses brushed off as 'unimportant'. I decided to pay for a private scan where the consultant told me not to give up hope and that there should always be two radiographers to confirm the worst (there was only one). He explained everything in detail to me and NEVER hid the screen from me. Finally the sickness left me after another week and I knew that the repeat private scan would confirm another miscarriage. It did. The specialist also found a dermoid cyst on my ovary that the NHS had not seen. I waited. Ten days later I had the miscarriage at home - no where near as painful as the twin miscarriage and the placenta was tiny! This was on Dec 27th. My doc tried to refer me for an urgent NHS followup after the cyst was found, but the hospital says it will be at least 8 weeks!!! So much for urgent! I paid again yesterday and all POC are gone now and the cyst has remained the same. I really want to be able to have some kind of hormone testing before I get pregnant again, but suspect it will still take a long time to see a consultant. My morning sickness with the two miscarriages was no where near as bad as with my son. I am worried this will happen again, but the NHS here only test you for problems if you have had THREE miscarriages!!! So here we go....the clock is ticking and my son turns 3 this year, so I'm not waiting around for anyone! Has anyone else had such a poor service from the NHS?? What are we paying for??!!!
